Metro Files - Episode 2
20/02/2015 Duración: 03minThe combination of presidents and sex puzzled the commuters of Washington, D.C. But with puzzlement comes intrigue, and with intrigue, comes excitement. Metro riders were caught off guard. Most of these people have never spoken about which First Lady was the best at performing oral sex or which president was horrible at pleasuring his wife. However, it was clear to us that all of them have thought about it in great detail. The combination of politics and sex is often a dangerous potion, but the people we spoke to were as jovial as President Ford waiting in his outdoor pool with a glass of wine. With every recoil, smile, and laugh, the perverted people of the Metro reminded us why we come out here every week. Commuters are amazing people who can be reading notes for an important meeting one-second, and talking about whether or not Abe Lincoln was down with the booty the next. Only in D.C.

RJD2 Is Okay with Being Rough Around the Edges
17/02/2015 Duración: 11minThere's just so much to say about RJD2 it's hard to even write a blog post about him. But we're sure as hell going to try. His breakout album was Deadringer which was released in 2002. Singles like “Ghostwriter,” “Work,” and sooo many others pretty much influenced a culture. This interview went down in July at Moonrise Festival in Baltimore which was hosted by our pals at Steez Promo. What's most interesting about this episode is that we tried to arrange this with his manager and publicist a week prior but we lost contact closer to show. This was all about timing. Had we not seen this guy backstage, (by himself we should mention) this wouldn't have happened. Most artists were chauffeured to the stages they were to perform at on these golf carts in the roped off areas. RJ walked through the crowd. By himself. I imagine he may even have had to convince security that he was in fact performing when he got to his destination. We chatted about what goes into his set and how easy things can malfunction (

Executive Chef Adam Rosenblum of Causwells in SF Learned a Hard Lesson at Age 24
13/02/2015 Duración: 15minAdam Rosenblum is executive chef of Causwells in San Francisco. It's located on Chestnut St in the Marina District. Formerly sous chef of the renowned Flour + Water, Rosenblum pumps out a menu of bold American cuisine with European influences. Before booking Rosenblum, we had no idea he is from the town of $ilver $pring, MD (dollar signs necessary because it's a city of kings) a place maDCap knows well. In yet another tasty edition of the Gorm Report, Laura Gorman and Rosenblum talk about his cooking philosophy, the hard lessons he learned when opening a restaurant at age 24 and the restaurant he plans to retire with. "I just want to cure meats and drink wine," says Rosenblum. Damn straight. www.causwells.com @big-chocolate: https://soundcloud.com/big-chocolate/big-chocolate-and-toms-diner

Fog City's Bruce Hill tells us how to cook a burger and who he's turned down for a reservation
28/01/2015 Duración: 05minIn maDCap's first edition of the segment "Gorm Report" with our San Francisco correspondent Laura Gorman, we sent her to the historic diner called Fog City. Located along the Embarcadero, Laura went to this fine establishment because we'd read their burger was badass, among many other items on their menu. In this episode of maDCap's Gorm Report, listen to executive chef and part owner Bruce Hill tell us what he likes in a burger as well as which celebrity he turned down for a reservation at Fog City. www.fogcitysf.com

'Bump n Grind' Opening Day with David Fogel
16/01/2015 Duración: 08minIn the immortal words of Robert Kelly: "I don't see nothin wrong...with a little Bump n Grind." We here at maDCap agree wholeheartedly, and so does David Fogel of the music and events company 88DC. Along with partner Joe Liehr, Fogel had a vision for his hometown of Silver Spring, Maryland, that included an expanded bump program and robust grind capacity. Now, "Bump n Grind" is no longer simply a description of your sweaty Saturday, it's also the name of a new spot for coffee, music and food at 1200 East-West Highway. maDCap stopped by Bump n Grind's opening day to offer our support and to speak with David Fogel about this "quintessential third space." Flux Pavilion: The Inner Sanctum
31/12/2014 Duración: 48minBy day, Joshua Steele is a mild-mannered, thoughtful British gentleman who enjoys a good graphic novel and a nice mojito. But by night, he transforms into a sonic superhero and unrepentant bass warrior, Flux Pavilion. maDCap's second rendezvous with Flux Pavilion took place in a most unusual locale: the bathroom backstage at the Mad Decent Block Party at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Due to the depth of the conversation and its intimate setting, we're calling this program "Flux Pavilion: The Inner Sanctum." Then, we listen back to our newly-expanded first encounter with Joshua Steele from New Year's Day of 2013. That conversation was held at Washington DC's newly opened Echostage and featured Steele's label-mate and partner in crime Shaun Brockhurst, better known as Doctor P. @flux-pavilion | @doctorpcircus | @circusrecords http://fluxpavilion.com | http://circus-records.co.uk http://twitter.com/fluxpavilion | http://twitter.com/doctorpcircus | http://twitter.com/circus_records http:/

Laura Silverman of HBO's The Comeback
30/12/2014 Duración: 18minLaura Silverman plays Jane on the HBO series, "The Comeback" which had its season finale on Dec 28. The series was created by Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow. I realize that not everybody who reads this is old enough to remember how most of us came to know Kudrow. For those not in the know, Kudrow played "Phoebe" on the acclaimed series "Friends." In "The Comeback" she plays Valerie Cherish, an embarrassing actress with a thirst for the big time, even when it wants nothing to do with her. Once a star, and not so much anymore, she tries to revive her career by doing a documentary about her life. She hires a student film crew and has the highest of hopes in pitching the final edited documentary to Bravo. Jane was the producer of this tanking documentary. She's mostly heard off camera, being snapped at by Varelie. This series was first filmed in 2009 and was canceled after one season. Behold, the suits wanted it brought back and it airs a second and final season in 2014. In season 2, Jane has si

Tune in to hear their expert opinions on which coffee best compliments the bakery’s blondies (or blondés?). If your stomach isn’t rumbling by the end, you’re probably not human. What's unique about Blind Dog is that they're a pop-up cafe only operating from morning til around 4pm. The evening hours it reverts back to Darnell's, a bar named after its owner, Darnell. This interview took place outside. On the patio. While some lady kept trying to interject. Back off lady!
