MaDCap DC had a lovely conversation about film and the arts with Patrick Taylor and John Hibey, owners of D Dot films - a film house based in Washington, D.C. Hibey recently cowrote and produced "Fishing Without Nets" a short about Somali pirates directed by Cutter Hodierne. This film earned them the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. They've recently teamed up with Vice to shoot the feature. Patrick Taylor provided the original score. Also, special guest Alister Kennedy graces us with his presence.

This is a clip from an old interview that we never released. It was never released mainly because there was no engineer, just David Ross talking to The Reverend with a cheap mic from Radio Shack hooked up to his laptop. Out of a 20 minute long interview, this is the one question we wanted to ask most.

MaDCap DC skypes writer Emily Matchar as she just wakes up in Hong Kong and bothers her about the topic of "New Domesticity." Matchar is also writing a book about New Domesticity which is to be published by Simon and Schuster's Free Press in 2013.

MaDCap DC had their first live music episode with Curtis Ostle and Jonathan Parker of the Ostle/Parker Quintet. We had a jazzy conversation about the music scene in Shanghai and what lies next for these extremely talented musicians. Also, we learn a bit about what not to bring on an airplane. We had Dan in studio to have an unfiltered conversation about the evolution of the blog and about some of the hidden gems in Washington, D.C. We also had Ghanaian-American John Asante from NPR’s Talk of the Nation in studio to talk about his first trip to Ghana. Mr. Asante has an amazing story and is a tremendously upstanding individual. Plus he rocks cool glasses. His powerful trip to Ghana was also a featured piece on NPR’s Tell Me More.

MaDCap DC phones New Zealand to talk with filmmaker David White about his latest film, “I Kill,” a short about death. Also had the pleasure of speaking with one of a kind artist Ryan Martinez, creator of the Domer Art Collective. Mr. Martinez too imparts his wisdom. It’s a treat.
