Cinema Toast Crunch

Sorry for the lateness this week.  Things have been a little hectic, but I hope it was worth the wait as the CTC crew dives into the Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin body sharing comedy All Of Me.  Plus we have new release news, celebrity obits, and what we watched last week.

This week Brett's back and he brings with him Waking Ned Devine a 1998 comedy set in a small village in Ireland where the winner of the National Lottery has just died.  Plus new release news and celebrity deaths.

It's an odd week as most of the regular CTC crew is MIA.  Cassandra steps in to join her dad in talking about the 1972 made for TV movie The Night Stalker.  And it's very light week for new releases, but we cover what's there.

This week we let Kayla pick the movie and she chose 1982's riff on The Pirates of Penzance; The Pirate Movie.  We talk about what we've watched and what's coming out new to theaters and home video.  Plus a free plug for Vinegar Syndrome's Half Way to Black Friday sale.

After taking a week off due to sickness the CTC crew is back with D.O.A., a film noir from 1949.  A man has been poisoned and must solve his own murder.  Plus we talk about new releases and what we watched over the last two weeks including the premiere of Deadpool 2.

This week the CTC crew looks at a small British love story about an artist with insomnia who can freeze time.  We also look at new releases, Hollywood passings, and discuss the movies we watched last week.

This week CTC looks at Ana Lily Amirpour's 2014 Iranian vampire film A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night.  It's a film full of style and gorgeous visuals that takes a different look at the vampire genre.  We also talk about new releases, offer a mini review of Avengers Infinity War, and pay our respects to Verne Troyer.

Recorded on 4/20 the CTC crew checks out the mind altering journey that is Alejandro Jodorowsky's El Topo, the film that started the midnight movie craze of the seventies and eighties.  This was one of John Lennon's favorite films and another credit in the career of Alfonso "El Guapo" Arau.  Plus new release news.

This week the CTC crew looks at S. Craig Zahler's grindhouse homage Brawl in Cell Block 99.  This film from last year was a joyous surprise for Brett and now he's going to see what Garvis thinks of it.  Plus new release news.

It's still a few weeks until 4/20, but we're getting ahead of the game by offering our thoughts on Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical.  We also have our new release news and a brief discussion on what we watched last week.

Happy Easter!  What better way to celebrate than with a Technicolor Irving Berlin musical?  This week Garvis and Brett discuss Easter Parade from 1948.  Plus new release news and what we watched last week.

This week CTC discusses the Italian western comedy They Call Me Trinity starring Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer.  We also have our news and look at new releases on home video and in theaters.

This week the CTC crew takes a look at Me And Earl And The Dying Girl.  This 2015 comedy/drama deals with a high school student whose mother forces him to befriend a girl dying of cancer.  We also cover the new release news for home video and theaters, discuss the films we've seen over the last week, and give some mad love to the classic made for TV movie, Gargoyles.

This week the CTC crew prepares to laugh as we revisit the 1980 comedy classic Used Cars.  Brett weighs in with his after the Oscars thoughts.  And of course we talk about the new releases on home video and in theaters.  Plus Garvis takes another chance to sing the praises of Paul Williams.

For the third year in a row, Cinema Toast Crunch offers our predictions and analysis of the Academy Awards ceremony.  Whose predictions will come out on top?  Listen and find out.
