The race of the season thus far, 5 in contention, a nee pole sitter for the year, rain, action a plenty and yet it was the cool head of Verstappen who did it again. From hero to 0 as Ferrari not only dropped the ball, but tore it up, set it on fire and threw it into the deepest of ocean waters. An opportunity to put more pressure on the Bulls goes begging. Big calls have been made at Alpine, Famine threatened and boy did he deliver. A parting of ways with Ocon might just open the door for Doohan. And is there a seat for Sainz? With Redbull and Mercedes all but out, Williams have thrown the arms wide open, but is this the right call? 2024 is the year for curses to be broken. The season is on, 4 from 8 in terms of race winners, will we see another, and if so who and where? After years of trying Charles has finally broken the duck, this will very much go down as one of the wins of the year. And trouble is afoot at Alpine. Ocon into a team mate is nothing new, but a scorching assessment from Famine has us staring down the barrel of a make or break moment, if Alpine are dead set, this trigger needs to be pulled with authority. It was uncomfortable, but it was job done again for Verstappen, a setup change and a tow from Hulkenberg denied a possible Piastri win. With Monaco up next are we set for another upset on the cards? The 0 had to go, finally Lando Norris is a race winner. McLaren are on a charge, and although the result for 81 didn't reflect the weekend make no mistake, we have a challenger ready and waiting. Will it be Oscars win next time round? A RB resurgence saw 4th for Dan in the sprint and 7th for Yuki in the race, finally getting to grips with the chassis and a tidy livery to boot. And Alpine have got it together, criticism round 1 and rightly so, but points on the board now has all eyes on Williams once again. All the plus much much more on this week's episode of BTRL.

Round 5 and a return to China after years in the wilderness. The rain came down, the old guard showed that experience counts and once again, Max came, saw and conquered.  A savage Ricciardo was seething after a Stroll slip, as animated as ever, and not his usual all smiles self. We have to ask the question of Aston once again, is this the pairing to take them all the way?  McLaren pulled a rabbit after the predicted challenging weekend. Is a win on the cards by seasons end?  And Alpine make a move. Disaster in Rd 1 but you have to say the steps are being made. We went drifting in Suzuka as the Honda's were on show again in the RB20. A 1-2 and 636 days since anyone but Max led the championship. Yuki mania is here, in his fourth year, it is all staring to come together. Leading up the RB challenge and points at home. Is he a potential RedBull suitor? Disaster strikes Williams again. Another chassis in the wall and still 2 rounds away from a spare. If alarm bells weren't ringing already...they are now.  And a midfield Merc? The fall from grace continues. The run is officially over. A brake issue, a roar from the crowd and it was game on in the land down under. Red season is officially here. The inhouse ops are under control, the pit wall is calm, and the race results are coming. But Sainz is paying the price and is without a drive still... if you were running Ferrari, are you keeping or sacking Sainz today? Mercedes fall from grace continues. Round one has been run and won, and it's Max who extends his winning ways in Bahrain. It's a tail of two grids, RB, Alpine, Haas, Williams and Sauber look to occupy the back half. But can they break into the top 10 and sneak any points in season 2024? Is Lewis lost? A lonely 7th place for the 7 time champion had many scratching their heads a George took old of the W15.
