Sinopsis

The DnA Foodcast is a weekly cooking show hosted by Dave Hinkle and Alexander Sliwinski and fueled by you, the listener. Basically, you send in recipes, we cook them live on air and try not to burn down our respective living spaces.

Episodios

  • DnA Foodcast Episode 18: Teriyaki Ribs

    03/08/2011 Duración: 18min

It's a short show this week because this recipe for teryaki ribs, submitted by Tyler C., has been our easiest recipe yet. It requires 24 hours of simply marinating the meat, cooking it then simply pigging out. These ribs pack quite a bit of flavor! • DnA Foodcast Episode 17: Potato Salad (Bjorkman Style)

    27/07/2011 Duración: 50min

Our latest episode continues the summer trend of cool, creamy goodness -- and, more importantly, not having to cook! It's potato salad, Bjorkman Style, submitted to us by our pal Ian McC. Enjoy! • DnA Foodcast Episode 16: Ceviche

    20/07/2011 Duración: 01h14min

This week, we cook something without actually cooking it. Er, actually, it is cooked, in a sense -- we just ditch the oven for another cool summer treat: the Ceviche! It's a tasty dish that's sure to impress company, just maybe let them try it before you told them how you "cooked" it. • DnA Foodcast Episode 15: Whatever-Berry Sponge Cake

    13/07/2011 Duración: 27min

It's full-on summer out there right now, guys -- don't bother to check; just take our word for it. The heat very well may burn you up alive! Instead, we suggest trading the heat of the scorching sun for the far-less lethal heat of the oven as we do some light baking in the latest episode of the DnA Foodcast. We present the Whatever-berry Shortcake, a cool, refreshing bit of pastry that's sure to make you forget the earth is on fire right now, if only for a little while. Enjoy! • DnA Foodcast Episode 14: Crepes

    06/07/2011 Duración: 31min

We're back to our weekly schedule! In our latest episode, we tackle Greg M's crepes (or crêpes) -- no, they're not just thin pancakes from France. Crepes have a storied legacy all their own (which we in no way get into) and deserve to be treated with respect. And jam. Lots of jam... and Nutella. Thanks for listening and be sure to tell everyone about the show -- your friends, family and, heck, tell your enemies, too! You can find all of the links you need below. • DnA Foodcast Episode 13: Baker's Dozen Review

    22/06/2011 Duración: 40min

Has it really been 12 dishes already? It seems like just yesterday we were a podcast of two dudes with a crazy dream. In a new audio feature, we're going to recount those 12 dishes and how they've changed our lives -- it's been a wild ride that's seen us prepare ricist chicken, microwaved chicken and a type of chicken that will save us countless dollars for the remainder of our lives. As always, it never would've been possible without your recipes, so we thank you for sending those in. Bring on the next 12! 15/06/2011 Duración: 51min

Rice is a versatile food -- this much we can all agree on. So when Timo and Ines submitted their recipe for Rice Bake, a casserole-like dish filled with peppers, chicken, onions and tender loving care, we just knew we had to give it a try. Behold: Episode 12 of the DnA Foodcast, fit for consumption! • DnA Foodcast Episode 11: Milk Tart

    08/06/2011 Duración: 46min

This week, the boys put on their baking aprons and make a South African delicacy, submitted by one Ludwig K: the Milk Tart! As one would assume, it's a milk-based treat -- a delicious accompaniment to your morning cup of coffee or a decadent conclusion to your evening supper. No matter the time, no matter the place, it's delicious -- and we thank Ludwig for sharing! • DnA Foodcast Episode 10: Stuffed Mushrooms

    01/06/2011 Duración: 30min

What a momentous day for the foodcast! Today, we release our tenth episode, which sees us tackling the funky fungi of Bryan F's stuffed mushroom recipe. These bigger-than-bite-sized treats reveal hidden layers of flavor, thanks in part to green onions, a blend of italian cheeses and some savory sausage. Enjoy! • DnA Foodcast Episode 9: Etoufee

    25/05/2011 Duración: 43min

This week, the boys prepare a savory, soupy southern treat: Etoufee. It requires quite a few ingredients, but is surprisingly easy to prepare. The only drawback is that the original recipe calls for crawfish tails -- very hard to find if you live in San Francisco or Boston. Thankfully, shrimp works, too! iTunes and Zune subscriptions, as well as reviews, are appreciated! • DnA Foodcast Episode 8: Chicken Teriyaki

    18/05/2011 Duración: 52min

Like clockwork, another episode of the DnA Foodcast is here to help you get through those hungry times. Okay, this episode is a bit long, but don’t let that fool you, this meal could have been done in about 20 minutes. This week, hosts Dave and Alexander prepare a simple, yet highly delicious recipe, submitted by Christian G.: Chicken Teriyaki. (Hey, that rhymes!) You can slather your ears in audio delight by snagging the episode below. iTunes and Zune subscriptions, as well as reviews appreciated! • DnA Foodcast Episode 7: Meatloaf

    11/05/2011 Duración: 39min

For our seventh episode, we tackle one of the most basic recipes out there: Meatloaf, submitted by Sean G. Surprisingly, neither Alexander nor Dave had prepared a meatloaf prior to this episode — but you’ll be happy to know our inexperience barely got in the way of preparing the hearty, delicious dish you see above! • DnA Foodcast Episode 6: Tacos (sponsored by Espolón tequila)

    04/05/2011 Duración: 39min

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we’re making tacos! What does Cinco de Mayo actually celebrate? Well, we cover that too. Offering our humble podcast and content for the low-low price of free is something we find quite fun and something we very much enjoy doing. However, there are costs involved. The web man comes around every so often for his dues and the weekly ingredients are just a few of the obvious costs involved with keeping The DnA Foodcast alive. Our first sponsor is the fine folks of Espolón tequila. Please enjoy the foodcast and Espolón responsibly. • DnA Foodcast Episode 5: Breakfast Burritos

    27/04/2011 Duración: 33min

For Episode 5 of the DnA Foodcast, your intrepid hosts handle Will’s hearty breakfast burritos recipe. It’s like a regular burrito, but full of breakfast foods — and here we were trying to think of a way we could safely, legally have a burrito in the morning. Now we all can! • DnA Foodcast Episode 4: Tangy Chicken

    20/04/2011 Duración: 34min

It’s our first listener recipe, submitted by Tyler C! This week, Alexander braves a chicken cooked in the microwave while Dave (excuse the pun) chickens out, opting to cook his in the oven like 19th-century man. Regardless of the means, each host arrives at a tasty, tangy conclusion. Join us, won’t you? 13/04/2011 Duración: 29min

This week, your intrepid hosts, Dave and Alexander, prepare a cobbler — to be specific, a Plop-on-Top Cobbler. Don’t let the name fool you: this recipe in no way involves making shoes, but it does involve plopping heaping mounds of flavorful berries onto a delicious, moist dough before baking. • DnA Foodcast Episode 2.5: Bacon-wrapped Scallops post-game show

    11/04/2011 Duración: 13min

Episode 2.5 of the DnA Foodcast is an experiment — part post-show wrap-up episode, part more podcasting. We like podcasting and hopefully you’ll enjoy the supplemental lobe-stroking. Short, sensual soundwaves from us to you.

  • DnA Foodcast Episode 2: Bacon-wrapped Scallops

    06/04/2011 Duración: 49min

For our second episode, the DnA Foodcast prepares decadent bacon-wrapped scallops from Dave’s dad, which we’ve affectionately dubbed Poseidon’s Piggy Delights. It’s got a great blend of tastes and textures: big, meaty scallops; rich, smooth goat cheese; and bacon. Bacon, as we’ve established, is great.
