Forever Midnight

Is this episode one of the Top Dawg Forever Midnight Society members picked the poison for the FM3. This time around that poison was the independent haunted cop shop movie "Last Shift" from 2014. Happy New Year Wonderful listeners! Jef, Josh and Brian are kicking off 2024 right with some full on monkey business! That's right, the boys are talking about the 1990 animal exploitation/snoozefest "Shakma"! The promise of a possible hidden gem revolving around a bunch of college kids and Roddy Mcdowall larping and getting picked off by a crazy ass baboon was undeniable. However the FM3 were more than a little let down with this aptly overlooked 90's animal slasher. Season's Greetings wonderful listeners! It is the time of year again that The FM3 go dumpster diving into Santa's dirty old Sack for another Xmas horror movie! This time around the crew decided on the proto-slasher to Black Christmas: "Silent Night, Bloody Night" from 1972! The Forever Midnight crew had hoped for a holiday hootenanny of a film with stockings filled with Christmas candy but instead got a weird wild tale about escaped mental patients and the wacky town they call home. In this episode, Jef, Josh and Brian are back in the saddle with a brand new episode! Talking about the 2023 film out of Argentina "When Evil Lurks". This film was highly recommended and suggested to the FM3 by lots of you awesome listeners. So the crew decided to check it out,  and let's just say, The Director: Demián Rugna knows how to make a decent horror movie! If you have not watched this film yet, please consider checkin' it before listening, mainly because it is a good one and secondly because the guys will spoil it ALL!!! That poison is from the 2013 Spanish film Witching and Bitching (Las brujas de Zugarramurdi). In this episode Jef, Josh and Brian point their time machine to rural Wisconsin in the late 80's to check in on the legendary clown shoe-string budget horror film "Blood Harvest".  They had long heard about "the scary movie that Tiny Tim plays a clown" but each of them had never seen it.  So making their way to a farm in the middle of nowhere they witnessed the making (all two days of it) of a truly forgettable slasher, but holy guacamole it sure did star Tiny Tim as a mentally deranged clown and that fine listeners is the real reason why we are all gathered here today...to bask in the genius and extreme weirdness of Tiny Tim as Marvelous Mervo and maybe some prime time boobies...

In this episode, The FM3 have their poison served up warm and squiggly by a wonderful top level Patron from Patreon. The poison in this case is the polarizing 1981 film "Possession" by writer/director Andrzej Zulawski. Jef, Josh and Brian are finally ready to tackle this legendary movie at least in the public's ears. They may have recorded an episode talking about this very movie some time back and it was lost in the fog and sadness of different days. That being said, If you happen to be a patron on Patreon, that original recording will be getting uploaded and then you will get to hear the crew's initial reactions and feelings as they were also having a tough day at the old podcasting office. This is one of those films that will forever change you- good or bad, It WILL change you. Some folks end up not liking it which is understandable and other folks will end up obsessed digging into the dark depths of the interwebs for any tiny nugget of insight into this crazy ass film. 

It is Forever Midnight's very own Josh Jacob Jingleheimer Staples birthday! And what better way to celebrate than by letting him pick a movie for the FM3 to talk about. Jef and Brian were surprised and even a little excited when he picked the 1988 blockbuster Critters 2! Getting to see that giant Critter-Ball in action as well as some titillating Critties busting out of a certain bounty hunters uniform made Jef, Josh and Brian sprint to watch what might be Mick Garris's best movie. Plus the FM crew talk about the recent Haunts they got to attend - Winchester Mystery House's "Unhinged: Housewarming" & Terror Vault: "The Initiation" Produced by Peaches Christ and David Flower! 

In this episode Jef, Josh and Brian dip into a new movie that a lot of listeners were talking about and wanted us to check out. The ookie spookie spider filled 2023 romp "Cobweb"! The crew pretty much went into this one super cold and not sure what to expect, but with a name like "Cobweb" the crew knew they were in store for some creepy crawly action. This one turned out to be a full on Halloween movie as well, so now that it's pumpkin' season, get your friends together and add this to the Halloween playlist! However Listeners, please oh please watch this one before you listen - we spoil it as usual, but this movie is way better not knowing all the shit! In this episode, another Top Dawg Patreon Patron picks our poison! This time around that poison is the 2020 slow burn horror film "Amulet". This one flew totally under the radar for the FM3 but they were happy to have a mystery movie picked for them. With that said, this conversation is filled with a much spirited debate about whether or not this movie was good because believe it or not Jef, Josh and Brian didn't all see eye to eye through the keyhole on this weird one. It is suggested that you check this one out for yourself before listening to this episode because the crew is taking the fast train to spoileys-ville and all the secrets will be revealed!

In this episode The FM crew get a movie picked by another one of their amazing top dog Patrons! This week Jef, Josh and Brian find themselves in some familiar territory, That's right they are back in the house that chainsaws built, talking about the 1995 movie "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation". This is one of those movies that some folks love and some folks hate, regardless how you feel - this installment in the chainsaw franchise is one that people love to talk about. So sit back and grab some Bar-B-Que or some pizzas if that's what you fancy as The FM3 dig into "The Return Of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"!

In this episode Jef, Josh and Brian get to visit good old Castle Rock Maine once again and they couldn't be more excited! People are talking and very curious about the new store that just opened. What could it be? What do they sell? Who is the creepy freak that owns the place? Soon the town is getting super agitated by the arrival of this new stranger selling special things for dirty deeds. Not wanting to trade their souls for some estate sale trinkets, the Forever Midnight crew click their heels together and say Stephen King!, Stephen King!, Stephen King! They awaken back in their old beds, everything seems normal except they all know they have now seen the 2 hour cut of the 1993 film "Needful Things". Lord Help them...

In this episode the FM3 sit down and talk about the newest installment in the Insidious franchise 'The Red Door". It seems just like poor Dalton the Forever Midnight crew have a case of the old brain fog aka "The Further Farts" when it comes to figuring out the timeline for these Insidious/Conjuring movies. Brian and Josh (especially) need some help from Patrick Wilson or at least from Patrick Wilson dressed as Ed Warren to "conjure up" some of the what's and how's and why's of all these very similar movies. So grab some popcorn, a flashlight (cause it's gonna get foggy up in here) and a nice comfortable seat as the guys talk about "Darth Maul goes to College''.

In this week's episode the FM3 have a nice little techno-horror film plopped in their laps by one of their top level Patrons. "Pulse" AKA "Kairo" or "Circuit" in Japanese is an interesting take on the idea of ghosts and their relation to technology directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Jef, Josh and Brian had never seen it before and were excited to have this one picked for them. This film follows two groups that discover evidence that ghosts might be trying to invade the human world via the internet. Its take on the sheer loneliness caused by our broken connections from using this technology seems light years ahead of what we all thought about the world wide web in 2001. So... hop on the internet as quickly as possible and listen in as the FM crew chat about this often overlooked Japanese Horror gem! In this week's episode Jef, Josh and Brian almost Sheetar'd their pants when they were served up a movie just like an ancient Lumerian feast that they had been dodging forever. A top level Patreon Patron delivered the 1987 horror comedy "Blood Diner" for the crew to chew on. One thing the FM3 figured out very quickly is this movie is batshit crazy balls! One second you got a couple dipsticks knocking a security guards eyes out with a shovel, next they are taking orders from a brain in a jar, then they are shooting up an aerobics class to harvest body parts, and then they are deep frying fingers for vegetarians to munch on and all that's before the REAL wild shit starts! The Forever Midnight crew found out as soon as they met Peaches that they were in the company of a true horror fan! The conversation touches on everything from Peaches discovering horror, The Terror Vault Haunt that she produces every Halloween season, being a cult leader and even running errands with John Waters!! In this week's episode the FM3 finally return to some familiar stomping grounds to check out the newest Stephen King Adaptation "The Boogeyman''! It has been some time since the Forever Midnight crew visited Stephen King's 1978 collection of short stories known as "Night Shift" and they are happy to be back on the old Lawnmower again with this horror anthology that has birthed dozens of horror movies and television series. So grab a snack, turn on all the lights in your house and enjoy the fact that in 2023 we are still getting new scary movies based on Stephen King stories!

In this week's episode Jef, Josh and Brian head into the horny alternate 80's universe of the horror comedy TerrorVision! This movie truly has all the things the FM3 could ever want out of a horror film: Sci-Fi swingers getting their funky freak on, pretentious punkers turning into puke piles, unstable military nuts with enough ammunition to blow up the moon, a sloppy mess of a martian monster that loves assimilating humans just like Society's shuntings of yore and so much more!! This is one of those rare films that is truly so bad it's kinda...good. So hop in the hottub with your scary movie pals as they talk about this beloved cult classic!
