Forever Midnight

We are back with another voicemail episode! There’s a lot to catch up on since Covid hit and slowed everything way down. We get to hear from some of the usual suspects, along with a few surprise callers. And at some point we even talk about horror movies! Hooray! So take a trip back in time with us to the beginning of 2020, as we dive deep into this mix bag that is “listener voicemails”. 

In this weeks episode your friends at Forever Midnight hop on the Duane train, and no we are not talking about The Rock, We are talking about the one and only Duane Jones and his starring role in the wild, blood filled, art house Film “Ganja & Hess”!    Directed by actor/writer Bill Gunn, this film is a very distant relative of Blaxploitation /cult films of the time and is unlike any “Vampire” film The FM3 have ever seen.   So Grab your crucifix, mason jar of Hammer Blood and ancient bone knife and get ready for “Ganja & Hess” (1973).    

In this episode your friends at Forever Midnight return from hiatus with an episode that was recorded at the beginning of June 2020. We talk about the current Civil rights movement as well as Wes Cravens two blockbuster hits “The Hills Have Eyes” (1977) and “The Hills Have Eyes 2” (1984) both starring Michael Berryman! 

The Forever Midnight kids are going back to school, and just in time for another Hamilton High Prom! Mary Lou is back again, escaped from the Under-Over, and she wants her flippin' crown (as well as some twenty-something teenage hanky-panky) in Prom Night 3: The Last Kiss (1990). All the characters of typical late eighties Canadaville USA high school life are in play: sax-tootin' jocks who can't crack a book, their hate-baking girlfriends, inept faculty who snip off their own fingers and can't fight off an ice cream attack, and most famously, a horny she-ghost from the fifties to grant your every wish... as long as you dig the graves! It may not be the final installment of the Prom Night franchise, but it's the end of the line for the FM3, so let's head back to the Inbetwixt to get lucky!

In this episode, your friends at Forever Midnight travel back to 1957 to watch a young balding man murder his cheating ex with a stink bomb. Needless to say, whenever that happens, you are surely creating a pissed-off revenge-ghost that's gonna return in 30 years to boff your son and possess Hamilton High’s very own Carrie White - just so she can strap that dusty old crown onto her krispy krueger melon. All in all, a pretty solid plan! So join us as we chat about the little talked about classic 'Hello Mary Lou, Prom Night 2'! (1987)    

Tonight, you've got a date with Forever Midnight! Let's get gussied up in our ruffliest outfits and head out to the Hamilton High School Prom where verrry slowly, we'll discover that a killer is on the loose, that Jamie Lee’s character has little to no clue that anyone is in danger, and that a monobrowed caveman is gearing up for a plan he can’t even spell. One by one, teens (who may or may not be in their thirties) are falling victim to the sparkly-ski-masked-mystery-killer, so please take our arm as we spike the punch with equal parts Disco & Leslie Nielsen and pray we get lucky on Prom Night (1980)!!!

In this episode your friends at Forever Midnight take a trip south of the border to check out the 2017 film “Tigers Are Not Afraid”.  The FM3 chat about child actors, drug cartels, and the series “Cursed Films” on Shudder as well as some travel tales of their own. As an added bonus the gang has figured out a new Quarantine recording technique that is sounding real swell. So feel free to take your masks off because this episode is coming at ya with that pre-'Rona feel!

In this episode The FM3 are transformed into the FM5 as we are joined by our buddies Michael Conrad and Becky Cloonan!! We all form a jolly green giant of gelatinous Voltron meat and talk about being creative in the end times, Elijah Wood and his many friends, how Conan the Barbarian and HP Lovecraft are bedfellows and even a little about the new Richard Stanley directed film  “Color out of Space”.  All in all the FM crew were so glad to connect with their friends even if it had to be thru their computer phones.  We hope you enjoy this crazy episode as the spooky super friends unite!

In this episode, your friends at Forever Midnight must have rubbed a crusty old lava-lamp, because they ended up with the genie from “Wishmaster” (1997). They thought everything was coming up 'Midnight when the Djinn offered to grant em three wishes, but soon they would face the dire consequences of their selfish actions. Like you, the FM3 are currently trapped in their homes, only able to bring you episodes from the deep, dark nether-web. 'Wish' them luck (wink wink) to get thru this nightmare... they're gonna need it! 

While we wait for the world to return to business as usual, we decided to take you on a little trip down memory lane, and do sort of a best of our first 25 episodes. Since we're all tucked away in our own little Nests, these days, the FM3 infest their eyeballs with this roach-filled, Amazon Prime streamer from 1988. We learned so much about pest control, flagrantly cheating on girlfriends, island politics, mixing volatile chemicals indoors, mad-science, genetic mutation and - last but not least - songs about cockroaches. Needless to say it was just what the Plague-Doctor ordered during this crazy quarantine. Join us as we chat about "THE NEST!”

Worth. Every. Penny.   Like many of you sweet listeners, we're all sheltering-in-place for the time being, so we got together on the internet for this one. (insert bloodfart sound here)

Forever Midnight went for the movie theater hat trick and saw Invisible Man (2020). What they saw, or maybe didn't see (wink wink) was another film filled with gaslighting, revenge and some top notch technology. Which leads us to discuss other technological advances, enemas and the horror that is the current state of medical coverage in California.

In this Episode your friends at Forever Midnight rolled the dice for a second week in a row and saw the new film "The Lodge".  Filled with ups, downs, curve snow-balls and an unhealthy dose of gaslighting this film left the FM3 a wee bit unsettled and ready to record another happy go lucky episode for your ears. Join us as we make imaginary snow angels, give each other sleeping pills and wake up in various areas of the research center and talk about how this film is many things... and among those things might be a house and or cabin.  

After a slight hiatus following the release of their first short film, the geniuses at Forever Midnight scooped up tickets to see everyone's favorite 600 year old fairytale: "Gretel and Hansel".  Afterward, the FM3 tooted one another's horns for a fortnight, ultimately concluding that you don't always need an avenger or a wolverine to make a kids' story worth watching for horror nerds.

In this episode, the Forever Midnight crew call upon the ancient ones and spend a demon wish on a horror film filled with incredible acting, more than one minion monster, some heavy metal tunes and maybe a sprinkle of virgin ginger blood. In this brand new episode, your crewmates at Forever Midnight sink seven miles down into the murky depths to watch Alien, er, I mean 'Underwater' (2020). The FM crew had fun chatting about deep-sea-creeps, big and small (like TJ Miller), what it must be like filming an underwater horror movie besides just getting your tube socks moist, and talked at length about how a certain Rock Hard Zombie was able to get published in a popular adult publication. In this episode, your friends at Forever Midnight find themselves at the business end of a top-tier Patreon movie pick and are forced to watch the 1985 kookoo bananas trip that is “Hard Rock Zombies”. Nothing could prepare them for the journey they were about to embark on as the screen is riddled with mullets, little people, werewolves, nazis, necromance, town meetings, skateboarding, a couple zombies, a smidge of pedophilia and some totally sweet jams that apparently make you want to dance just about everywhere. As the FM3 try to regain composure, they quickly realize they are the latest victims of one of the most insane motion pictures ever pieced together. Will they ever be the same? Will they die in 7 days?! Tune in to find out!
