Not For Nothin'

Here's the deal. We are able to fill 30+ minutes talking mostly about baseball, while sprinkling in Macklemore, starter jackets, Wham documentaries and if Seattle is a "water" type city. That tells you all you need to know about this episode. Plus we ramble on for another 30.

Chris wants to sing some sea shanties while he's on the coast of Maine. Instead these two debate Lobster vs. Haddock. There's only losers in this discussion. They manage to enjoy some fireworks this fourth, but these two are the real duds. Eventually they get into some WNBA talk, there's no other sports worth getting into now anyway. Then Kris manages to put themselves out of their misery by grinding his gears about tennis players wearing their hats backwards. Hope you all had a better long weekend they these two, yikes.

Chris tries his hand at impressions. He really went all out in trying to do Adam Sandler & Jon Lovitz, huh? Somehow that leads us to kinda ranking old sitcoms (but only with a studio audience...jesus f'ing christ). Fortunately we work our way to a post-NBA Draft review. Boy does Chris hate the Spurs again, huh? Then we end on some WNBA talk as always. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff in between, but who cares.

Chris honor Juneteenth by doing what ever other white person does, golfing! Kris reviews a documentary about Gordon Lightfoot - what is this NPR? Chris goes to a Mets game, but we're still not sure if he enjoyed the whole experience. The positive was Pride Night and Cracker Jills (cause they have no nuts, get it). But the down side was baseball, the Cardinals and Daniel Vogelbach. That's so Chris. We do an extended version of Grind our Gears on Oakland A's owner, Bob Huggins, Kevin Durant. Then finish it off with positive WNBA vibes.

What would a Not For Nothin' game show be like? We think we nailed the answer. Chris starts talking about how coaches dress, which leads them to somehow going down a very inappropriate conversation involving Dairy Queen and Butterfingers. Yikes. Then Chris really gets weird talking about a movie called Tiptoes. He doesn't do a good job of selling it. But it does sound insane. They somehow move away from that and end with the NBA finals, the rising starts of the WNBA and Sue Bird gets her jersey retired. Maybe they should retire this podcast, right?

Man June kinda sucks right? Except for the nice weather, what else is there really? We decide to take a crap on weddings and help Chris pick out a good pair of shoes to wear with his cheap-ass suit. And surprise it involves the in-laws. Anyway Chris also is bothered by the amount of signs in the world now, is he wrong? Finally we figure out if the NY Liberty will be good and pull it all together. And Chris is all in on the Heat winning the NBA Championship. Kris doesn't know who to pick (not surprising).

In-laws, moving & our dark secrets of our animal body count. But then we talk about how the Heat murdered the Celtics playoffs come-back hopes. Then we discuss Jaylen Brown, and how we're rooting for Jeff Green to win a chip. Then we try to decide if Nick Nurse is actually a good hire. Oh also we're kinda finding a little respect for the NBA refs. Now that's crazy.

We start off talking Love Sacs, before paying our respects to the LEGEND and everyones Queen, Tina Turner. Then we do a quick WNBA rundown, before ending with how we're not surprised about the Celtics coming back from 0-3. But will they win the series? We're split on that. We do finish off with a little grinding of our gears over NBA fans and court-side seats.

Kris hates boomers, especially in his kitchen. Chris hates all condiments except for Mustard? Is Ranch a west coast thing? They finally get to NBA Playoff talks, please don't give us Lakers-Heat finals again. I guess all of our favorite team to root for now has to be the Nuggets right? Is the Knicks even trying to run an offense? They end the show trying to be happy for the city of Pittsburgh for the fleeting success the Pirates are having.

Chris starts off with his Al Pacino impression. Kris says what's Kraken? So he's into the NHL playoffs I guess. Actually he might have got Chris into it, cause the NBA Playoffs just aren't doing it for either of them. Although they did watch, so they do talk about it. Kris finishes the episode off by grinding his gears on the NFL Draft. RJ come back to us!

We start off playing a game called, "is it sex, or singing?" Chris is eavesdropping on the person on the other side of his hotel wall. We celebrate the Knicks winning the NBA Championship...er, no that can't be right. Oh yeah, they won 3 games in the first round series. Go crazy Knicks fans, you've earned it! We try to make some NBA predictions but it's so fricking hard. Maybe we shouldn't gamble anymore.

Chris relives his skater days in NOLA, while Kris looks forward to the NOLA food. AAU has become a scam at this point now, right? It's also something that doesn't really serve the purpose it used to. "Defund the AAU!" We talk some basketball "Light The BEAM!" Then finish this off with Kris grinding his gears about the anti-charge takes that are just stupid.

Kris breaks down his death hike in Arizona and his new love of cacti. We wonder if its possible to consume 50,000 beers...in 30 years? It's crazy to think, but not that crazy. Both of us think Baseball is fun and exciting now. Hell we might even watch a little. Then Chris grinds his gears of the media trying to jump on the Women's Basketball bandwagon. Too late, it's full. suck it.

Chris is back in the esports business, unfortunately. Kris grinds his gears over society already ruining A.I. (and chatgpt). They move on to bad dating and why blind dates have to be the worst...but is it worse than online dating? Then they finally get around to sports - A little WNBA talk and some MachMadness, which hasn't felt all that mad even with the upsets.

It's March, the best tournament of the year is starting and Kris didn't fill out a bracket? Now that is Madness. The good news is we get to say F*ck off forever Boeheim. Not gonna miss you. We discuss the NBA and the recent Jokic backlash. Good luck to Damon Stoudamire at GT. Then Kris wonders why there are matinee concerts and we say goodbye to a legend, Bobby Caldwell.

Chris is sick...don't worry it's Covid. So he's hold up in a hotel in LA and we've got a lot of making up to do. We decide which disaster would you want, how good of a movie if Tombstone & old phone technology. Kris has a life decision to make, should he become a plumber? Then we try to have Ja Morant's back and how how happy we are for Geno Smith getting paid. The real only conclusion we came to was, we're the Best Western of podcast. That can't be good, right?

Kris is having a girls weekend and learns what it would be like to have two teenage daughters. Chris give a Harry & The Hendersons analogy. Chris laments going back to Montana. Then we pay our respects to a fallen hero, Dave Jolicoeur of De La Soul. Can we stop with the nostalgic tv commercials. We end this with a bang, which is more than I can stay about the NBA dunk contest. Good job Mac, I guess .

With no football left to talk about, why don't we discuss the relevancy of SNL and comedians in general. Also lets throw in how the Oscar nominated movies all suck and no one should really care about any of this stuff anymore. Speaking of stupid, the NBA dunk contest is this weekend. Enjoy that.

Chris goes Jerry Lewis Telethon style to try to sell his Super Bowl Boxes. We debate the weak gambling options and a feeling of lethargy leading up to the big game. It's not just us right? But we still manage to find some props that we can drop some small stacks on. We sum up the NBA trade deadline in one sentence. In the end, Chris finally pressures Kris to buy a couple boxes (he already feels cheated).

This one is random as hell. Losing a digit, WNBA offseason, 80's music, wrestling moves that would actually hurt & US Mens National Team Soccer coach decisions. Yeah we like that some times.
