Not For Nothin'

In honor of Kris's new home renovation, Chris decides to watch the 80's cult classic comedy sensation (not sure if any of that is true), The Money Pit! It doesn't go well. The movie, not the home reno...uh, yeah maybe both. That delves into a long and winding discussion of actual legit funny movies. Switching to sports, we give praise to the Lakers for wining the bubble title (we have to call it that don't we), we congratulate Lebron and give him the damn respect he's never ever received. But we still can't put him in the GOAT conversation...cause he's no Sue Bird! We eventually get around to making week 6 picks for the NFL, while Kris comes up with another good futures bet to put on the board. But you'll just have to listen to find out what it is. This might not be our best show, but at least we're not Josh Norman, right?

We give all praise and love to the GOAT, Sue Bird. LeBron can't even f*ck with her in the ring department. We're not sure she'll ever reconsidered the greatest of all time, but in our minds and hearts, there's no one who is. We get around to commemorating the legacy of Eddie Van Halen. But in all honesty, even if he were the greatest guitar player ever, he's no Sue Bird, god damnit! So we move on and finish the show picking the NFL week 5 games. Or what's left of them anyway. After 5 years of doing this, we're still .500. We're not losers... Ugh, but we are the Bill O'Brien's of gambling.

Better late than never with the show I guess, huh? Once they get around to doing this weeks show, the put Pat Riley up on a pedestal where he belongs along side Red Auerbach as one of the best execs ever. They also try to convince themselves the Doc Rivers is the cure for all the Sixers ailments. Once Chris gets over his Connecticut Sun losing, he jumps on the Seattle Storm bandwagon with Kris. Then finally the boys hope to continue their two-week winning streak for week 4 NFL bets. I think we all know how that's gonna go... spoiler alert, not good.

Chris takes a victory lap on saying what everyone else refused to say, Van Morrison is the worst. Turns out he was right. We do a little NBA trivia. But the piece de resistance is of course NFL week 3 picks. We're hiding a huge successful week 2 high, so nothing can stop us now!

We dream of a day where the only fitting outcome to the 2020 NBA season would be a Heat-Nuggets finals. But we realize that a Lakers-Celtics is all but written by some sort of basketball cabal. Maybe like the rest of this year, it's what we ultimately deserve. We also make our week 2 NFL picks. We did so bad the first week, we really need to win our money back and fast, before the wives figure out we drained the 401K.

The NBA playoffs are so wild and intriguing, Chris is actually rooting for both the Raptors and the Celtics, WTF? Is it possible he's becoming a Brad Stevens truther? Only time will tell. Of course, it's also NFL Week 1, which means the boys make their picks famous picks on each and every game. I'm pretty sure they'll finish right around .500 again...Spoiler alert!

We pay tribute to one of our all-time favorite sports icons, John Thompson. We weigh in on the craziness that is the Steve Nash hire. Then we try to find a little bit of time to guess on the outcomes for an NFL season that is even more crazy and unpredictable. But that's our specialty - making stupid predictions and even worse bets.

With 200 episodes, it normally is cause for a celebration. But what's really important has placed itself firmly in front of our faces once more. It never should have left our sight. We can talk about sports, and our love of Alan Alda, and the stupidity of a preseason college football poll that includes teams not playing...But in truth, we need to be a constantly reminded that society has to change, black lives do matter. And sports are a perfect example that we don't deserve one without recognizing the other.

After almost 200 episodes, we're finally scrapping the bottom of the bubble barrel, if you will. We debate something that has to do with Denzel Washington & Samuel L. Jackson. I'm not really sure what it's about, but somehow we find a way to talk for almost half the show and only leave a little bit of time for actual sports talk. So on brand. We break down the NBA playoffs - with major shocking news, Chris thinks the Raptors are the new Spurs. It's an incredible call. We wind down the show by throwing in a little NBA draft order thoughts & our only WNBA advice for you this week, is bet on Sue Bird. You won't find a better bet than that. We're rooting for you River Boat Ron!

Someone call the fire department, cause these guys are dropping hot takes all over the place. We say good-bye to a NYC legend, while being disappointed in Shark Week and Mike Tyson. Chris goes off on the NCAA, comparing them to the NRA. Yup, you heard us right. What are you gonna do? Put us in your cross-hair... um, oh shit, that's actually possible. Well if we don't make it to episode 200, might as well go out bad gambling style on horse racing, NBA, Grayson Allen, and the WNBA. Sue Bird is the queen!!!

The Knicks do something and we lament about it. In this crazy year of 2020 (which is definitely some ancient numerological curse bestowed upon the Knicks), It's about the only thing you can count on. We also half-ass gamble and make predictions on what remains of this NBA season.

Sports are finally back, it's the summer and we're all having to lock ourselves back inside for the rest of time, so might as well gambling, right? It's the new American way. We decided to have one big sports betting show. It's so big we're even willing to bet on baseball! But we don't stop there, we're even parlaying that with WNBA and NBA action (notice the gambling pun? Neat, huh?). But if you want NFL advice, you'll just have to come back next week. How's that for a teaser (I did it again)?

Emergency Podcast time, people! This is not a drill! Hell must have frozen over. Other wise why would we be baking bread while doing a podcast on the same day Daniel Snyder made an announcement about releasing a statement that he has not yet officially changed the name of his football team. This is so big we have to talk about it now, before there is actually something to legitimately talk about. Plus we take a few hits from the Woj Bomb. Eh, maybe we already did that. All I know is that a couple of non-stories happened and we're here to talk about it all.

And show you a love like you've never seen, ever seen. We pay "tribute" to the king of creepy one-hit wonders, Benny Mardones. You have left us - but will be able to hit on sixteen year old girls for eternity now. They then rediscover "Clash of Legends" basketball pay-per-view. Would it work now? Would you want to? There's some other topics, but at this point let's just do some bad gambling on the MLS. We've got nothing else.

We're celebrating Canada Day and Fourth of July all in the same show, while doing what Americans do best, gamble on a hot dog eating contest. And just to make things extra, Chris regales us with his story to the smoke-filled destitute that is the Rivers Casino. Cash in that ticket, bro. We move on to creating a steroids hall-of-fam - but also for cheaters like Pete Rose... you know he'll want in. We wrap it up saying good-bye to Vince Carter and some bad gambling.

Things get hot and heavy when it comes to ice cream flavors. They do move on to sports... hey how about that?! They work their way through the latest updates on NASCAR and MLB's season. At that point, might as well try to gamble on it. Chris asks how long can baseball's season last before it's canceled due to COVID-19 problems.

With the weight and the volume of what is going on in our country right now, we didn't want to needlessly add any nonsense. There is a time and place for that, and this isn't it. Take your own time to think or act or do what you feel is best. But please open your hearts, your eyes and your mind to these moments and the bigger picture.

It's conspiracy week! In honor of another non-space launch this week and the fact that it's the 40th anniversary of "The Shinning," we not talk favorite conspiracies. We start with the Kubrick non-sense, then quickly move onto our favorite sports conspiracies. Then wrap it up with a new one. That shady-ass Vince McMahon, trying to buy back his XFL League after declaring bankruptcy. Yeah, that ones not so much a theory. For good measure we give thanks to Jose Canseco for giving us one of the best sports fails of all time!
