Ep. 23- Tell Me Something Good, with Aydin Osman
13/06/2017 Duración: 44minI spoke with Aydin Osman this week about all of the news happening and not happening at Saints FC. You can find Aydin on Twitter @Aydin_Osman96 and you can get his writing @ReadSouthampton. Be sure to give them both a follow so you don’t miss out. Aydin and I talked everything from pondering Virgil and LFC’s tapping, to Claud napping and a possible sacking, it’s all here. We even have a bit of a takeover talk and a new theme song thanks to the suggesting of one Chris Rann. The podcast now has a Facebook page (as do I). Ep. 22- A South(American) Saint
06/06/2017 Duración: 38minSouthampton is becoming a truly global club (this has been happening for some time, but I'm slow to this, as I am to most things). A quick check of Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook reveals accounts claiming to support the club from all around the globe. Accounts from Nigeria, Argentina, USA, and Mexico all boast hundreds or even thousands of followers. This week I spoke with Bastian who manages the @Saints_Chile accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. With little more than speculation on issues surrounding the manger and potential replacements, we focused more on him, the accounts and the personal side of things. We discussed the season and what it’s like to support from Chile, and other issues surrounding the club. I hope you enjoy our conversation and be sure to give Bastian and @Saints_Chile a follow on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. All the links are below. Ep. 21- Wishlist Thinking, with Josh Kingdom
30/05/2017 Duración: 44minI was joined this week by Josh Kingdom, @JoshuaKingdom02 on Twitter, who, among other things, writes for @SaintsMarching_. This time of year is a bit weird for fans, myself included. The season is over, we’re uncertain as to who else will be leaving, staying, coming, or going around the club, and yet we’re trying to keep everyone up-to-date with what’s happening. That’s part of what makes Josh’s article so interesting. Amid all the speculation, he’s put together a “wishlist” of players who would fit our system if we lose players and would strengthen our squad if, as Les Reed suggested, we don’t sell everyone this summer. Be sure to check out his articles here and here, give him a follow on Twitter, and enjoy the show. Also, if you haven’t checked out the player reviews on the Ugly Inside YouTube channel, be sure to do so by clicking here and subscribing… they even have Pablo Zabaleta on an episode (the Jack Stephens episode). The podcast now has a Facebook page (as do I). Be sure to like the page and fol

Ep. 20- Wenger In, Puel Out, Wrap It Up
23/05/2017 Duración: 01h53minIt’s the end of the season as we know it... and I feel fine! Whether you are Wenger in, Puel out, or naked running through Saint Mary's, it was important for us to wrap it up (the season, that is). I spoke with a range of guests from around the world to try to get a handle on what happened this season and how we all feel about it. I hope you enjoy it. Below are the guests in order of appearance. Bob Brown - @rsbrown80 Dan Hargraves- @dhargravessfc Derek and Tim Marshall- @timjmarshall Aydin Osman- @Aydin_Osman96 Glen de la Cour- @L1Minus10 George Maunders- @Maunders1995 Rich Brill- find him on Facebook- Rich's duaghter has epilepsy, and he does all he can to help raise and spread awarness. Ep. 19- Rotation, Rotation, Rotation- Puel Hands out the Run-Outs
16/05/2017 Duración: 01h04minIt’s been some years since I graduated from college (9.5, if you’re wondering). I still remember the feeling of completing my degree while also knowing I had another year and half of school ahead of me in another part of the state. Knowing there was life after college, and that I was going to have live it, scared me a little. All of that came rushing back to me this week when I talked with Harry Stack -on Twitter @Harrry1994. We talked about Saints, how he became a fan even though he lived in Luton, the manager, the changes, and the future of many players at the club. Overall, a fairly lengthy, enjoyable discussion. Be sure to check out Harry’s work on, and give a follow to, the @SOTON_PLPanel, if you haven’t done so already. The podcast now has a Facebook page (as do I). Ep. 18- Forster Saves the Day
09/05/2017 Duración: 57minTim Marshall- @timjmarshall- on Twitter, joined me from London to talk about Saints vs LFC, what it’s like to follow Saints from London, the season in general, and much more. I'm always honored to chat with people who are passionate about the club, and I can honestly say, that I am impressed each and every week with what my guests bring to the conversation. Tim took time to educate me on a number of things about London, football, and more, but some of it didn't make it into the show. That being said, I enoyed all aspects of our conversation, and I hope you enjoy the portion that made it on the podcast. Our chat came the morning of a 5:30am kickoff for me here on the West Coast, and the morning after my wife’s 29th birthday (she’s forever 29, just ask her). So, couple the tantalizing first half with about 45 minutes of sleep and no coffee and you can only imagine how I was feeling coming off the match. Luckily Tim brought his A-game to the show and we had a good chat and I left feeling good about the point a

Ep. 17- Hull and Void
02/05/2017 Duración: 54minI read a ton of writing from kids...teenagers. Most of it is atrocious. It’s the same mistakes, the same analogies, the same evidence, over and over and over again. I can say, honestly, I don’t enjoy most of what I read from teenagers. But, Ed Carter may have changed my mind. Reading his writing over the past month or so, I had no idea Ed was under the age of 21. But, he is. The fact you can’t tell that from his writing, though, is why he is on the podcast. Ed Carter (@EdCarterRS on Twitter) is a new writer for @ReadSouthampton. We talked on Sunday, after the Hull match, but before the rumors of CP’s exit became rampant. We had some fun and I hope you enjoy our chat. Be sure to give Ed a follow and give his work(s) a read. We talk about one of his articles specifically, and that link is here. The podcast now has a Facebook page (as do I), which is a new thing. Be sure to like the page and follow along so you stay up-to-date with what’s going on. Ep. 16- A Night in the Pub, with Glen de la Cour
25/04/2017 Duración: 01h17minL1minus10, otherwise known as Glen de la Cour, joined me on this week's episode to talk about his blog, his history as a fan, what's it's like to be a part of 3 generations of Saints' season ticket holders, and much more. Glen was fantastic to talk to and the most difficult part about this episode was cutting out some of our conversation. We talked for 2 hours, like you might do with a friend down at the pub when things are going really well... or not so well. We simply talked, and when I finally checked the recorder for time, I knew I was in for a long editing session. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I enjoyed talking with Glen. His blog, by the way, is leagueoneminus10.blogspot.co.uk (be sure to check it out) and you can find him on Twitter @L1minus10. This is by far the longest episode of the show as of yet. Let me know what you think by contacting me on Twitter, Facebook or via email. Glen's blog- leagueoneminus10.blogspot.co.uk Twitter- @L1minus10 The podcast now has a Facebook page (as do I),

Ep. 15- He is Risen and He Scored for City
18/04/2017 Duración: 57minNot exactly the best circumstances under which to talk, but Conor Dunford and I both had interesting weekends. While he was sitting in his seat in Itchen North watching City put on a Pep masterclass, I was attending a funeral and had to rely on Twitter to tell me whether or not Forster brought Sane down in the area… thanks Sky and BT for muddling that up for me. Anyway, Conor and I talked on Monday about his writing, the match, and we even tried to predict where we will finish the season. We’ll see how it goes. I’ll probably owe him a few pints by the time all is said and done. You can find and follow Conor on Twitter @ConorDunford1, and you can get his writing on @Soton_PLPanel and @SaintsMarching. Really enjoyed the chat with him and I think you will too. You can find the article we discussed on this episode here. If you'd like to predict the points we'll get the rest of the season as Conor and I attempted do so by clicking --->here. I'll publish the results and keep everyone updated! The podcast now has

Ep. 14- A Clasie Affair, with Jamie Grant
11/04/2017 Duración: 50minWhat a week! 7points from 9, 4 goals, 2 clean sheets, and some really good individual and team performances. Coming off a week like that, I was super excited to talk with Jamie Grant, @ManLikeGranty on Twitter. Jamie does a lot on social media, and in what I believe to be typical English fashion, he doesn’t really boast about it… the guy has almost 17,000 followers on his Instagram page dedicated to the club (@SouthamptonPage- Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) and has worked on social media for several different media outlets. He’s currently running social media for @12thManSport. I can’t say enough how awesome it was to talk with Jamie about a range of topics. Lots of things aren’t on the episode because they simply don’t belong here, but Jamie is a class act, a good human, and a joy to work with. I hope you enjoy our conversation! Be sure to check out @SouthamptonPage on Instagram and also follow @Sure on instagram to be eligible for any future giveaways! Thanks to everyone who entered the @BobbyStokesBook g

Ep. 13- Beyond Frustrating
04/04/2017 Duración: 49minSometimes life is frustrating... I mean it. I've made some serious life choices over the past 2 or 3 years, and a lot of them have centered around me not allowing myself to get frustrated with things I can't control... I'm not perfect, although I'd like to be, and neither is this episode... I had serious audio issues, my guest, Chris, had to record from work (thank you, Chris) and I was on a time limit that was imposed on me from above... top it off with the fact that I didn't get to watch the match against Bournemouth and I'm sitting in a hotel room right now, means I am frustrated. But, I'm done with that now. My guest this week is Chris Rann, and he's fantastic! If you haven't seen his website, be sure to check it in the link below. We talk the non-darby, the website, life in Dubai, and the rest of the season. You can get in touch with Chris on Twitter @crstig and be sure to check out his website , georgeweahscousin.com. Ep. 12- On International Duty
28/03/2017 Duración: 48minThere are a lot of aspects of training and sport, from physicality to tactics, to speed and technique. Every sport is different, but all have some common traits. One thing that this week's guest, Blake Hampton, argues, is that the psychological side of football is being neglected, and it can be the difference between being really good, and being elite. Blake and I talk about his latest article, "Understanding the Un-teachables: A Psychological Approach to the Game," published by Top Flight Talk and avaliabele on topflighttalk.co.uk or by clicking the link --> https://topflighttalk.co.uk/psychological-approach-to-the-game. After that we run down the latest Saints' news on the international front. You can get in touch with Blake on Twitter @SFC_Blake and you can find all of his work @ReadSouthampton, @TopFlightTalk and @12thManSport If you are intersted in winning a copy of Mark Sanderson's (@BobbyStokesBook - guest on episodes 10 and 11) click the link below and fill out the information. Ep. 11- Not As Planned
21/03/2017 Duración: 59minWe've all done it. Made plans, checked them out and ensured that everything is in order, only to have it all fall apart in the final minutes. But, you know what, it isn't that bad, really... so what if a Spurs' fan pulled a knife, I got my Gunzy (no, I didn't actually get a gun), but the knife story is true, which is why the bar where I watched the match against Spurs was devoid of Tottenham fans. They simply aren't allowed there any more after some incidents involving switchblades and such... well, don't bring a knife to a gun fight... enter Allen Gunn to save the day. I talk with Gunzy about the Spurs match and the international break. You can find him on Twitter @a_gunzy and you can also get his take by following @StMarysMusings. Special thanks to Allen for saving me this week. I also finish off my interview with Mark Sanderson. We talk about the club and the season to this point. It was really a honor chatting with him. He's also running for a good cause. Links are below. Mark Sanderson: Twitter- @Bo

Ep. 10- Mark Sanderson Part I: Author of the Bobby Stokes Book and So Much More
14/03/2017 Duración: 51minI was lucky enough to have a long conversation with Mark Sanderson (@BobbyStokesBook), Author of Bobby Stokes: The Man from Portsmouth Who Scored Southampton's Most Famous Goal. Mark is so much more than an author. Besides that fact that he's married, has kids, and loves Saints, he has a regular job, just like most of us. I found a lot of parallels between his writing of the book and me doing this podcast, which is part of the reason I enjoyed talking to him so much. This is part ONE of my interview with Mark. We'll be back with Part Two next week! The show this week focuses on Mark and the book, and also some history around the Southampton/Portsmouth rivalry. I constantly try to make sense of it as he explains is to me in detail... we have one insider, and one outsider, and the view is totally different. I hope you enjoy the coversation as much as I enjoyed my chat with Mark. Mark is also running in the ABP Southampton Half Marathon, and is raising money for the Saints Foundation. Ep. 9- Beautiful Football and The Ugly Inside
07/03/2017 Duración: 56minFor the first time on the podcast I had 2 guests on 1 mic. Freddie and Clive from the Ugly Inside were kind enough to make time to talk to me on Sunday afternoon(ish). Clive was there in 1988 when the Ugly Inside started, making copies by hand and distrubiting almost 3,000 fanzines at each home game. Clive, Freddie and I talk about how it's all changed and adapted and we take a look at how Southampton have changed in recent weeks. We talk about the Watford match and look ahead to the rest of the season too. Links for The Ugly Inside are below, be sure to check them out and subscribe/follow them to be sure you don't miss out on anything they have to offer. Ep. 8- The EFL Cup Final: Thoughts and Refelctions on a Day at Wembley
28/02/2017 Duración: 49minChristian Candler and I connected over Skype on both Sunday and Monday to talk about the EFL Cup Final. Sunday was weird. I watched the match in a pub, which changed my viewing experience. I lost my voice, so the first half of the interview sounds like a croaking frog. I recored in my hotel room, not my home, so there is some street noise... and despite some things not turning out for the best, I am still proud of what I'm putting out here, in the same way I'm proud of our team for the way they played at Wembley. You can follow Christian on Twitter @AmericxnSaint, he's the one with the sweet JWP icon. You can also view his writing here, or on the @ReadSouthampton page on Twitter. Ep. 7- WeAreSouthampton and WeAreGoingToWembley
21/02/2017 Duración: 40minThis week I am joined by the one and only Matt Beling (on Twitter @mattz182). He runs the wearesouthampton page on Instagram and I talk about him each and every week because he designed the artwork for the show. He also designed my phone case, which I talk about too many times during this episode. Sorry about that, but I really do like it. We talk Caceres, training camp, life in Barcelona, Puel, the EFL Cup Final and more. If you have questions or comments about the show, I'd love to hear them, please contact me via Twitter or email. The artwork for the show is done by Matt Beling of the wearesouthampton page on Instagram. Be sure to check out the great edits, competitions, and polls he has going on over there. On this episode you heard a riff from BB King, I didn't create or recreate it, I just thought it was a good fit for the show. If you were at the 1976 FA Cup Final or you are attending the EFL Cup Final this year, I'd love to talk to you about it. Please email me or contact me on Twitter. I'd love

Ep. 6- What a Difference a Striker Makes
14/02/2017 Duración: 48minThis week I had the pleasure of chatting with Allen Gunn, who, in addition to loving the Patriots and a bit of banter, runs the social media account and writes for @StMarysMusings. We talked at length about the club, our defense, our strikers and matches past and future. I even put some of our conversation on the podcast. You can find Allen and all of his fun loving ways @a_gunzy on Twitter, and don't be afraid to give him a verbal jab or two. He can take it, he's a big boy. Our artwork is done by Matt Beling of the wearesouthampton page on Instagram. Be sure to check out the great edits, competitions, and polls he has going on over there. On this episode you heard a riff from BB King, I didn't create or recreate it, I just thought it was a good fit for the show. If you were at the 1976 FA Cup Final, I'd love to talk to you about it. Ep. 5- There's Light at the End of the Tunnel... but it's just Sunderland
07/02/2017 Duración: 49minThis week Luke Osman stopped by to help me work through what's going on at the club. We cover new signings, non-signings, and the perils of finding a Center Back outside the transfer window. We also look at two poor performances from Saints over the past week, and briefly look ahead to Sunderland, who suddenly look like they know how to play football. Luke Osman is on Twitter @LukeOsmanRS. He's the co-editor for Read Southampton (@ReadSouthampton) and if you haven't come across one of his articles by now then you are probably actively avoiding them. If you are interested in writing about Southampton FC you can contact Luke on his Twitter account, @LukeOsmanRS. In addition to his other work, Luke is the host of a new podcast all about Saints. You can find the Red and White podcast on Twitter @RedAndWhitePC. The first episode was recently released and the panel talks all about Claude Puel's reign at the club. You can listen to them on Soundcloud. Our artwork is done by Matt Beling of the wearesouthampton
