Listening Well To The King

We learn that God directs our footsteps so He can display His glory in Exodus 14:1-4.  Our Perspective changes when we trust God and believe He is guiding us.  Instead of asking God to get me out of this mess, I know you have me here for a reason.  I can trust you and give you glory.  Also looked at John 9 and John 11.  The series is inspired by a book by Robert Morgan called: The Red Sea Rules.

Pastor Rick teaches from Matthew 28:18-20 where Jesus clearly defines the mission of the church which is to MAKE DISCIPLES.  We either are disobedient or ignorant.  Either way, Pastor Rick shares the importance and the how of making disciples.

Jesus tells us that Loving God and Loving Others shows our world that we are Christ followers.  Pastor Rick teaches from Matthew 22, but brings in John and 1 John passages to clarify the importance of loving Christians.

Paul doesn't let delays or challenges stop him from explaining or testifying about the Kingdom of God.  Paul continues to passionately persuade people that Jesus is the messiah.  God's plan remains the same... the Gospel and the Church.  Pastor Rick closes out the ACTS series by preaching from Acts 28:10-31.

Paul tells us how to enjoy a Shipwreck.  Paul was convinced that God allowed the shipwreck for a reason, so instead of feeling sorry for himself, he used it to preach the Gospel and advance the Kingdom.  Pastor Rick preached from Acts 27:1-28:9.

The Apostle Paul's life got really complicated since coming to Jerusalem.  Riots and imprisonments didn't alter God's plan of getting out the Gospel.  Pastor Rick teaches from Acts 22-26 and focuses his prayer on the Afghanistan and Haiti term oil.

Paul made ENCOURAGEMENT a priority.  The weekly gathering of believers ought to encourage them and also be an encouragement to others.  Pastor Rick taught Acts 20:1-12 at CrossPoint Church.

Pastor Rick teaches from Acts 19:8-20:1.  The Apostle Paul once again stresses the importance of listening and obeying God's Word.  This was important for the early church and important for the current church.  Quite the passionate message.

Pastor Rick teaches from Acts 18:23-19:7 where we are reminded of the importance of water baptism, disciplemaking and walking in the Spirit. Do you have the Spirit living in you and are you listening to the Spirit are critical questions.  God has called us to walk with Him and make a Kingdom impact.

Pastor Rick taught from Acts 17:1-15 and talked about how the church at Thessalonica and Berea both received and responded well to God's Word.  We can learn much about receiving and responding to God's Word from these early churches.

A normal day of ministry turns into a beating and imprisonment. Instead of anger and resentment... Paul and Silas pray and sing to their Lord publicly.  Prisoners couldn't believe their ears.  The gospel changed everyone who responded and lives were changed.  Pastor Rick teaches from Acts 16:16-40 at CrossPoint Church.

We all expect conflict from outside the church... but we find conflict comes from within the church in Acts 15.  The elders in Jerusalem listened to the Spirt and made a decision about the Gospel.  Listening to the Spirit encourages and brings Joy.  Pastor Rick taught from Acts 15:1-30.
