The context for this question was a comparable to a previous episode's question on whether homosexuality was sin. One could go on to ask - is adultery sin? Is murder sin? Is pre-marital sex sin? All of these activities, under the law of Moses, were considered a breaking of God's moral law for the new nation of Israel. They were considered out-of-bounds, ungodly, and unhealthy for God's newly delivered people, as a Nation under Jehovah who were to be markedly different from the Nations around them. We are back this week with some AER that took the whole episode. We discuss models of discipleship 1. It seemed to me in the nov 27th podcast that your basic answer to the question re connection and helping others etc. Was: jesus' way is different than how you live and you need to help people. Go figure it out yourself as to how you can include/help people in your life and get on with it! That doesn't strike me as how Jesus' or the apostles did it. Jesus trained 12 men and had another 100 or so around him all the time who were taking in the training as they went along. So how can the church model this? What intentional training are we providing for core leaders on how to live out the Jesus way, and what groups are actively being developed so more people can grow with those leaders? Clubs are good for connection but there is no training /mentoring happening there. I often find myself praying and calling out to God during the worship at living springs. Sometimes I do that audibly, other times internally. Is that something that could be encouraged during worship to help people lean into prayer further. Often in my own devotion times I find that I start by singing, it helps me focus on God, and then begin to pray with more passion and volume when there is music in the background. In this weeks episode, Pastors Kyle, Blake, and Doug discuss the following questions: 1:40 into episode listening last week to the throwback with Kyle and Blake discussing some Holy Spirit topics I found myself really sad that the bulk of discussion is about the “misuses” and “errors” of the Holy Spirit and not encouraging people more to seek the Holy Spirit and all His gifts. I came to Christ in a beautiful time when these manifestations of God brought many healings, deliverances from bondages, people transformed in an instant, and I can’t tell you how many people came to know Jesus in a transformative way. Where there misuses, absolutely. But that was not the bulk of what was forming my foundation in Christ. Kyle used the term “don’t go chasing it down” which stands starkly against what I believe I was, which was “hungry for the living God”. Kyle also used the term “Euphoria” in a negative way which if you look up the meaning means “Joy, Excitement, rapture”. We had euphoria all right! But not in a bad sens
