ELDRAD MUST LIVE! Yes, this week we take a look at Sarah Jane's final story, The Hand of Fear. The Doctor and Sarah Jane find themselves in the middle of a quarry (not surprising) during an explosion (fairly surprising) that dislodges part of an ancient silicon-based lifeform (definitely surprising) that’s been buried in there for millions of years. Turns out this Thing impersonator from the Addams Family is called Eldrad. Eldrad likes long walks up to nuclear power stations, possessing humans to do its bidding, absorbing radiation over a nice dinner, and apparently trying to get revenge on its own people!

On the evening of November 2nd 1966, Woodrow Derenberger was driving home from his job selling stereos and repairing sewing machines when he was passed by and then stopped by a UFO. The person who stepped forth from that craft communicated telepathically and introduced himself as “Cold”. What proceeded to happen from that point forward is one of the strangest UFO flaps in the history of the phenomena. When Indrid Cold met Woody Derenberger is one of the biggest crossroads on our #RoadToHellier that we had to pull off the highway, put the van in park, and immerse ourselves in the very integral tale that kicked off the Year of the Garuda.

EPISODE 250, PEOPLE! Who'd have ever thought we'd make it this far! This time around we watch The Krotons (which were designed to replace the Daleks as the Doctor's main enemy...you'll see why that didn't work out). The Doctor, Zoe, and Jamie land on a rather stinky planet. Mainly, that’s because of the sulfur content, but it’s also stinky because for over a thousand years the locals have been ruled over by The Krotons! See, the Krotons have a machine that, well, it needs brains! Kinda weird, we agree, but our TARDIS team shows up just in time to be part of an uprising amongst the locals that doesn’t quite go the way you’d expect. After a bit of a chemistry lesson, The Krotons are defeated and dissolved like the crystalline candy they sort of look like!

With thanks (as always) to Mike Solko, we have our post-Gally review recommendation! 1963: Fanfare for The Common Men! An entire audio drama created from a small reference to a fictional band during the First Doctor's era! It's a solid story and one littered with Beatles references (and one glorious conspiracy theory) for those of you who love to look for those things.

Yes, friends, we have been talking about reviewing The Web of Fear since before Gallifrey One this year, we were going to talk about it during our Gally coverage, but stars aligned such that we're finally now getting to it. And that's for the best because it's a story that deserves our full attention. We have the return of Professor Travers and the Yeti, we have the introduction of Col. Lethbridge-Stewart (who was almost played by someone else!), and we have our marvelous TARDIS team. What more could we ask for? Well, to have episode three returned from private hands, that's for sure!

These shadowy visitors have been around seemingly as long as the modern era of UFOlogy (perhaps longer, by some accounts)! But who are they? Government agents out to discredit witnesses? A secret government operating outside our own? Could they be, as Keel suggests, occupants of the UFOs themselves?! Join us this month as we explore tales of the Men in Black and being paving the way to talking about Hellier later this year!

Podcastica's Animation Domination block continues with the First Doctor adventure Galaxy 4! While the story in and of itself doesn't exactly grip us--Taylor in fact calls this the least scary Doctor Who story ever--we are certainly entertained by the Chumblies, are impressed by a female-dominated cast (if only fewer of them were villains), and we find a sure-fire way to make this story more fun for everyone at parties!

The Loveland Frogman! Yes, folks, strange things were definitely afoot in 1955! The same year that brought us the Kelly-Hopkinsville goblins also brought us somewhat similar series of encounters in Loveland, Ohio (right next to the Little Miami River, no less). What was the Frogman? Was he really all that froggy? Why was he seen again in 1972 and during a sweet Pokemon Go sesh in 2016? We investigate all that and more this month as we discuss the Loveland Frogman!

Podcastica's Animation Domination is off to a very strong start with EVIL OF THE DALEKS! The Season 4 finale was originally supposed to be the end of the Daleks in Doctor Who (but we all know how that actually turned out), so it's chock full of fisticuffs, sword fighting, and (by the time we get to the last couple episodes) explosions galore! Plus, we meet the Emperor Dalek! Join us as we review this animated recreation of the lost story and find ourselves another perfect 10 on the Duggan Scale!

I'm going to be honest with you, I am writing the description of the episode a couple days after having edited it and can pretty much only remember that we had a ton of fun doing MadLibs again. We talk about a lot of other things, as we always do, but I done fucked up, alright? Note to self: Always write the description WHILE editing, not 4 days later! Anyway, enjoy it! Friends! 2022 has already given us this little gem of an episode! That's right, we loved Eve of the Daleks! Though we have one minor nitpick, we were delighted by what Team TARDIS was able to do with a small cast, an enclosed set, and the old time loop trope! We got explosions, emotions, action, and the confirmation of the Thasmin Agenda! Let's grab a little bit of the leftover champers from NYE and dig into it!

The Future! That's right, friends, we are all interested in the future because that's where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives! That famous line by The Amazing Criswell permeates our first episode of 2022! And what does the future hold? We're not sure, but we make some predictions and share listener predictions for the new year. We also take a close look at the 1968 book Criswell Predicts: From Now to the Year 2000! to see what he got right, got wrong, and actually got pretty close on!

Our six-week long rollercoaster of a story has led us to this! The Vanquishers! Does it stick the landing? Well, we have a long discussion on expectations and how excited speculation can maybe lead to unrealistic expectations. We liked the episode, don't get us wrong, but we have to wonder if the original 8 episode season order would have served the Flux storyline better. At the end of the day, this is what we have and we always find the gems amongst the stuff we felt could have gone better! Programming Note! This is our last ep of 2021. We're going to take the rest of the month off and see you back here for Eve of the Daleks just after New Year's!

This month, we take a look at Bob Lazar's story because there's just enough there to make it believable and simultaneously just enough there to make it unbelievable. Seb identifies three avenues that he feels people haven't explored enough in the Lazar tale and together we at least try to find a theory that covers all the aspects of Bob Lazar!

We're back! We missed you! Did you change your hair while we were on hiatus because it looks GREAT! In this episode we catch up a little, but not as much as you may expect because we had ACTUALLY done that the week before in an episode that was eaten and cannot be released. But, hey, look, we talk about our favorite fruits so everything is all good all the same!

Folks, we are barrelling toward the finale for Doctor Who Flux! Our penultimate episode, Survivors of the Flux gives us lots to chew on. We get a deep download of Division lore, a twisted history of UNIT, and our very own Indiana Jones-like adventures (complete with an amazing hermit)! We're still loving this season, but we're also really hoping it'll stick the landing next week. How can the Doctor possibly save the universe and unpack the effects of the Flux?!

Sometimes there's an advantage to recording a day later that we normally do, especially when that day is Doctor Who's 58th anniversary! We dive into Village of the Angels, but we also have lots of news that dropped in honor of Doctor Who Day! And this episode just blew us out of the water! Possibly the second greatest Weeping Angel story ever. There's also lots of us to speculate on as we enter the final third of the Flux storyline! Do we have any idea what's going on? Maybe! Possibly? Probably not! But we're having a ton of fun on the ride!

Like a solid mythology episode of The X Files, "Once, Upon Time" gives Doctor Who fans some answers, a ton of speculation, and even more questions! This season continues to fire on all cylinders and if you were confused by the disjointed time aspect of the episode and the whole "we're hiding this character from the past and just making them look like Yaz" thing, make sure to give a listen this week as we break things down, show who was who, and speculate who could have been who!
