Another Metal Podcast

Episode 14 of AMP brings you, well, more new heavy metal as usual. This week represents the US, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, and Ukraine with a mix of death, black, epic, and stoner metal.

The heavy metal podcast your friends (and you) have never heard of continues with episode 13. This is perhaps one of the 'harshest' episodes since, now that I think of it, only two of the twelve tracks feature any clean vocals at all; but then again this is metal so just try not throwing up some devil horns to each and every song.

And here we have episode 12 of our modest little heavy metal podcast, on time with the new weekly schedule no less. Kicking things off is Sludgehammer from Toronto with some great death/thrash/groove loudness and from there descend into an interesting mix of metal from Sweden, Germany, Poland, France, and Indonesia.

Episode 11 just so happens to be the first installment of the show after switching to a weekly schedule. That essentially means double the new heavy metal every month and we can all agree that's a good thing. Another good thing is the fact that this episode features killer bands from Finland, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Estonia, Australia, and the US. You could say this show 'gets around', if you know what I mean.

This episode just might be the most diverse so far, and it really is all over the place; there's extreme metal from Ukraine, visual kei-inspired metal from Germany, Christian deathcore from the US, and old-school doom from Quebec.

Our internationally flavored heavy metal podcast marches right along with episode 9 for your listening pleasure. Featured countries this week include Sweden (as usual), Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, UK, Netherlands, France, and a handful of mid-western states here in good ol' 'Merica.

Here we are at episode 8 of our regular heavy metal podcast, and it's quite a well-rounded one. We start it off fairly light in the first set, get a little blackened and nasty in the second, and finish off with a thrashy third. Countries represented this time around include Russia, Italy, Greece, Spain, Canada, Chile, US, and Arkansas (not technically its own country, but come on...).

And now, episode 7 of the least Googleable metal podcast on the net. This one is fairly low down and gritty; a lot of sludge, doom, and blackened dreariness. Also, there are two return bands to the podcast with Sweden's 2 The Gallows and their country-mates Murdryck. Yes, I play a lot of Swedish music here on Another Metal Podcast, but I can't help it, most great metal seems to come from there. Have we figured that one out yet? Fear not, I still manage to fit Hungary, Germany, the UK, France, Norway, and even Pennsylvania into this episode's mix, so we're quite well rounded.

Welcome to episode 6 of Another Metal Podcast, our one-hour stroll down New Metal Lane. This one is pretty heavy on the doom and death, but there's some thrashy and hardcore stuff thrown in for good measure, and even a band representing my old home state of Montana (and you thought it was all country music there, didn't you, you close-minded bastard?).

We have made it to episode five of our heavy metal podcast without any serious bloodshed, bomb threats, or pregnancy scares, which I have to say is nothing short of a miracle (have you seen my less-than-disciplined review 'schedule'?). So buckle down, turn it up, and get some heavy metal culture in that brain!

Another episode, another hour (plus a bonus 20 min!) of great heavy metal. This is episode four of our new heavy metal podcast and it's not slowing down any time soon. Not that a biweekly schedule is an exhaustive pace or anything, but I'm lazy so it may as well be a marathon.
