Radio Free Asgard

This week we cover the penultimate chapter of Thor: Son of Asgard, issue #11! Now that Thor is wielding the mighty Mjolnir, what happens next? It's an all action issue in the mighty Marvel manner, as the Odinson heads to Jotunheim to challenge King Rugga!

It's a departure from the soap opera, and a return to a more action-packed storyline here in Thor: Son of Asgard #10! Thor asks advice from a horse, there's giant giants, Norns, and more, in part one of "Worthy"! Nuff said!

This week we wrap up our soap opera story arc with Thor: Son of Asgard #9! Along with the gratuitous T&A, silly theatrics, and random hair changes, we get a cameo from Frigga! Ok, not the most action-packed issue, but listen anyway!

It's soap opera time as we cover Thor: Son of Asgard #8! Teen drama and angst abound as Amora, the Enchantress hatches a cunning plan, with the help of the eeeevil Loki!

We continue with our exploration of Thor: Son of Asgard #7! The finest Asgardian-teen-drama-soap-opera-romance-adventure-angst comic of 2004! This week: Sif is having an identity crisis! Frigga worries! Kid Volstagg shows up! In the shadows, Amora and Loki are up to no good! And Thor is kind of a yutz.

This week we return to the Iron Age, with the tale of "Thor and Geirrod" - This one is a cracker of a tale which includes a shapeshifted Loki being locked in a chest for three months, a river that I sure wouldn't want to swim in, and some good old Thor vs. Giant action! This week we wrap up the first Thor: Son of Asgard trade with issue #6! It's a knock-down drag-out fight between Odin and... Karnilla? In addition to gratutitous cleavage, we get the conclusion of Thor's quest! Seeya there!

We're building up to something with Thor: Son of Asgard #5! Could it be the end of the first trade? This week we have a mud giant, shrubbery horses, and a war in Asgard! Plus Thor gets killed! Nuff said!

This week it's the return of an old enemy in Thor: Son of Asgard #4, as our three young heroes start out on a beach, but get dragged underground to the hidden lair of a bunch of pink fetuses! What more could you ask for?

This week it's another exciting episode covering Thor: Son of Asgard, as we discuss issue #3! It's a cold day in Jotunheim as our three young heroes walk through snow, and fight ice pixie elementals! Is this the work of the eeevil Loki, or is it the work of someone even more sinister...? Guess you'll just have to listen to find out!

This week we head into the literal dragon's den (really, it's a literary dragon!), as Thor, Balder, and Sif fight the dragon, Hakurel, in Thor: Son of Asgard #2! Who gets hit over the head harder, the dragon or us? Find out in the show! Plus Sif murders a tree!

This week we're shifting gears, and looking at the first issue of Thor: Son of Asgard! It's Thor...as a kid! Along with pigeon gods, giant spiders, and some truly ugly buildings, we follow Thor, Sif, and Balder on some early adventures! Woot! 

This week we wrap up the Thanos/Mangog story with Thor vol.2 #25!! In this issue, we find out how many times Dan Jurgens can recycle a single scene, how many faces Dick Giordano can re-draw, and how spoogy tears can actually be! Plus the Recorder gets blowed up real good! Don't miss it!

This week we're back to that same ice planet with those same stalagmites, and the same old gang in the penultimate chapter of the Thanos/Mangog saga! Thor vol. 2 #24!!! It's an all-action issue, with everything that entails...plus Tarakis turns into a bird! (sort of)  This issue courtesy of Jurgens, Romita Jr. and Giordano! It's Orikal-icious!

It's the big OOPS episode, as we go back in time and cover Thor vol. 2 #22! Why? Because we screwed up! This issue features the Mangog and Thanos wrecking a planet of gloopy green snot people in search of the Illumination Stone! Plus.. the first appearance of a future supporting cast member!~ Don't miss it!

This week we look at Thor v.2 #23, featuring the return (for no apparent reason!)  of the iron-pumping Firelord! Thanos and Mangog continue their rampage, plus you get to hear me try to pronounce "X'Hoss"!! Don't miss it, true believers!

This week we're wrapping up the whole Jake Olsen saga (rather a bit too conveniently) ! In the meantime, the Rigellians get trashed by Mangog! It's the end of an era from Thor Annual 2000! Nuff said!

Hooray! We're back from hiatus! And this week we celebrate by  looking at Thor vol. 2 #21!  This issue features Asgard getting beat to hell.... again... and the return of the amusingly top-heavy Mangog, alongside his new master, Thanos, as they seek to get what's in Odin's sceptre! Oooh my! Jane Foster returns to Asgard! Plus my thoughts on the Warcraft movie! (no spoilers)

This week we wrap up our coverage of the Secret Wars cross-over, with Thors #4! In addition to the end of the story, this issue features the return of Girl Thor, lots of fighting, and even a Man-Beast/Super-Beast cameo!  Enjoy, and see you in late June!!
