The Christian church is not very well regarded these days. All the trends are stacked against it. And yet… what Jesus says and does about it… Wow!

Some of the most lavish promises in the Bible are made regarding prayer. Prayer is the only thing Jesus' disciples asked Him to teach them to do. If we are going to grow spiritually and see God's purpose fulfilled in our lives, we must pray.

We were made to grow. People love to grow their families, finances, friendships, careers, and talents. Spiritual growth - the most important dimension of all - is strangely , sadly overlooked far too often. Starting Sunday, we will begin a short series to help you increase your spiritual growth. Spiritual growth will make you more resilient in times of trouble as well as increasing your enjoyment of God's blessings.

WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE FOR DAVID? In one of the greatest stories of the Bible, a shepherd named David runs an errand for his family and finds himself standing where his entire nation feared to be: in front of a murderous enemy solider. What happened next charted the course for the life of both David and al of Israel. This true story was written down to teach us all something vital about our own life and future.

This Sunday, we turn our attention to the Incarnation of Jesus. That's the doctrinal term for the miracle described in John 1:14: "The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us." What Jesus Himself took pains to explain to His disciples may surprise you, and it will definitely encourage you.

The response to our brief parenting series has been very encouraging. In this final week, before we turn our focus to Christmas, I want to open the Bible to talk to you about love. Faith, Hope and Love. That's what parenting takes, but the greatest of these is love.

On Sunday we will explore one of the most striking parables Jesus ever told. He told it to correct one of his most famous disciples. And the LESSON about forgiveness the parable contains is one of the most important things any of us will ever learn to keep our joy and peace.

THE GOOD NEWS IN LUKE On Sunday, after a long and frequently paused journey, we will reach the end of Luke’s gospel. The final words of Jesus there are the best news we have ever been told, and our first priority.

LUKE: Good News for the Whole World Several years ago we began a slow journey through the gospel of Luke. We will conclude that journey in the next few weeks, beginning with the resurrection of Jesus and His final instructions to His disciples. His words are as timely and life-giving as ever!

This Sunday we will conclude our series on the Prophets by listening to what are known as the Servant Songs in the book of Isaiah.

In seminary, I had a few "WOW" moments while listening to a lecture. On Sunday, I'd like to share one of them with you. We are continuing our very brief look at the Prophets, and the picture Isaiah paints in the first chapter of his message to Judah is one that we can carry in our hearts for life. The promise it makes is nothing the world has EVER offered, or ever could.

The prophetic writings in the Bible are enormous, but aside from a few key passages, the value of this part of the Bible seems distant to many of us. On Sunday, I’m going to show you how this part of the Bible works, and then we are going to dive into a prophecy from Isaiah to see God’s truth in action.

As we conclude our series "Conversations with Jesus," we come to one of the most important discussions Jesus ever had with His disciples. This conversation was initiated by Jesus. It was controversial then, and it's controversial now. In it, we will find not only guidance for life, but life itself. Personally, coming to grips with what Jesus said changed the entire direction of my life.
