    The Heat came out hot, scoring the game’s first 10 points and leading by 17 (45-28) in the 2nd quarter, then regrouped after losing that lead late to beat the Atlanta Hawks 123-114 in OT on Friday night and head into the playoffs to face the #1 seed Cleveland Cavaliers. The Heat became the 1st 10-seed in the NBA to make the playoffs since the current play-in format was launched in the 2020-21 season. Miami also became the 1st play-in team to advance with 2 road wins. Tyler Herro played like one, scoring 30 points, sinking a pair of huge 3-pointers in OT and consistently being the best player on the court the entire game. Davion Mitchell was sensational down the stretch and in overtime, hitting huge 3’s and locking down Atlanta’s star Trae Young for much of the game. Young, who still scored 29 points and sent the game into OT with a beautiful driving layup at the end of regulation, had just 11 points through the 1st 3 quarters. A big reason why was Miami Captain Bam Adebayo, who controlled the middle and ruled

    The Heat came out hot early, but the Chicago Bulls did what they’ve been doing lately- and done all season to Miami- coming back to beat the Heat 119-111 Wednesday night in a game with major play-in seeding implications. Josh Giddey dominated with 28 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Bulls. Kevin Huerter scored 22. Nikola Vucevic added 20 points and 11 rebounds. Coby White scored 18, helping Chicago finish off a 3-game season sweep of Miami, and win their 8th game in their last 11. The 9th-place Bulls (37-43) moved a game ahead of Miami in the Eastern Conference. They also pulled within a 1/2 game of Atlanta for the #8 seed. The 9th-place team gets a home game against the 10th seed in the play-in tournament. The winner then visits the loser of the game between the 7th and 8th seeds. Tyler Herro scored 30 for Miami, which had won 7 of 10 after dropping 10 in a row. Bam Adebayo added 18 points and Davion Mitchell scored 17. Andrew Wiggins finished with 14 points after 6 games out a hamstring injury
