Psalm 39:1, James 3:5-12. Our speech can either build people up, or tear them down. We should use our speech to glorify God, while telling others about all the things God has done for you. What do you use your speech for? To talk about the latest workplace gossip? To tear down someone because you really don’t know who they are? Why not commit to using your speech to bring others to Jesus.

1 Timothy 4:16. Paul teaches us to pay special attention to to what we believe, and what we proclaim to others. Each day we need to make sure our beliefs and our speech line up. Guard what you know and what you believe

1 Peter 5:8-9, Job 1-2.

1 John 5:21, 1 Corinthians 10:14, Psalm 135:15-18, 2 Corinthians 6:16-17. Our world today is FULL of idols. You probably don’t need me to tell you that. Some idols are easy to spot, while others will take God to reveal them. As Christians, we need to guard ourselves against idols, because idols should have NO PART of our life. Pray and ask God if there are any idols that you are serving, then confess those things and get it right with God.

Matthew 22:36-38. This is going to be a tough pill to swallow. Which do you love more: The things of God, or the things of this world? You can’t tiptoe on a tightrope and fool God into thinking that you are right with Him while living with the devil at the same time.

Matthew 6:19-21. Where is your treasure today? Jesus said that your heart will be wherever your treasure is. What things do you treasure most? Is it earthly things, or Heavenly things?

Proverbs 4:23, 20-27. If you are going to take what we learned yesterday and put it into practice, we must be ready to replace the evil that is present in our hearts, with the good things of God and His words and sayings. When was the last time you quoted Scripture to encourage yourself of someone else? If it’s been a while, maybe you still have some evil things clogging up your heart.

Psalm 51:10. If you listened to yesterday’s episode, you know that the heart is deceitful and wicked. You must pray and ask God to reveal things in your heart and in your life that should not be there. Ask God to create a clean heart, one that isn’t wicked and isn’t deceitful.

Jeremiah 17:9-10, 5, 7. Each of us needs some surgery done on our hearts. None of us, I am positive about this, enjoy getting surgery. It’s painful. It’s tiring. It’s expensive. But, sometimes surgery is needed to fix things up and make them better.

1 Corinthians 1:30. Simply put, Jesus is everything we need. Everything. Not some things.Not a few things. But EVERYTHING.

James 3:13-18. James provides for us two lists. One list is the characteristics of true wisdom, the kind that comes from God. The second list is the characteristics of false wisdom, the kind that comes from this world. Which list has more characteristics that is found in your life?

1 John 2:15-17.

Matthew 16:13-17, 21-23. It’s all about perspective. What things do you desire in life? The things of God? Or the things of this world?

1 Corinthians 2:14, 12-13, Matthew 6:23. Do you look at things through the eyes of man, or through the eyes of God. There is a big, a huge, difference. As Christians, we must continually look at things through the perspective of God. After all, who knows the mind of God more than the Spirit of God?

Proverbs 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:19-21, James 3:17. There are ultimately two types of wisdom at work in our world today. The wisdom that comes from man, and the wisdom that comes from God. Which wisdom are you following today?

Proverbs 1:7-9, 4:1-6, 2:1-5. Are you actively seeking the knowledge of God? If not, what are you seeking?

Proverbs 1:10,15-17. You don’t set a trap in full view of what you are trying to catch. It will not work. Likewise, the devil will do and use anything he can to cause us to get caught in his snare and stumble and fall. Two things to watch out for. Watch out for his snare, and don’t become part of those laying the snare.

1 Corinthians 3:2, John 16:12, Hebrews 5:11-14. Each of these verses teach us that we must grow spiritually, we must not, and cannot, remain a baby spiritually. Have you grown spiritually?

1 Peter 2:1-2. To grow properly into the person God wants you to be, you must first start with the basics. I encourage you to start reading a book like the Gospel of John. Don’t just read it, but study it. Use the cross reference system in your Bible to help you understand what you are reading. Take notes, allow God to reveal things to you. Sit in silence listening for the still small voice of God.

Philippians 2:2. Paul’s joy was filled when he saw those he ministered to grow in their faith in Jesus. Likewise, we should be joyful when those we lead to the Lord start growing in their faith. When was the last time you shared your faith with someone?
