Preached at Island Community Church on July 14th. Overcoming is an action verb! Today we continue looking at the Lord's instructions to the Church at Ephesus. Also, we find the conditional promise to all overcomers given at the end of the letter. "To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of My God." Join us!

Today on the Gospelstudy podcast, we start chapter 6 of Galatians, and Paul's intructions, "Brothers, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness, looking out for yourself lest you also be tempted."Then he reminds us of our own susceptibility to temptation:"For if anyone thinks that he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself." Preached at Island Community Church July 7th. I fear that sometimes we as the Church of Jesus Christ, have forgotten the importance of "good works." In this week's message, we look at the Church of Ephesus, and the Lord's commendations for this Church: "To the messenger of the church of Ephesus write, 'These things says He that holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:"I know your works, and your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you tested those who say that they are apostles and they are not, and you found them to be false;and you have endurance and you have born patiently on account of My name, and you did not become weary."

Today on the Gospelstudy podcast, the Apostle Paul reminds us, Gal 5:24 "They that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." He also reminds us, "Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." (vs 26) Let all that we do bring glory to the One who is worthy of all glory and praise, and that is, the Triune God!

Gal 5:18-21  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.  (19)  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are: adultery, fornication, immorality, lewdness,  (20)  idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,  (21)  envies, murders, drinking bouts, revelries, and the like; which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

In that case the offense of the cross has been done away with. (Gal 5:11)Oh that those who disturb you would even castrate themselves! (Gal 5:12)For you, brothers, were called to freedom; only do not use freedom for an opportunity for the flesh, but rather through love serve one another. (Gal 5:13)

Taken from Revelation 1:6-7  To Him who loves us and who washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 ​and He made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 ​Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen!   In today's message, we focus on the response of the world at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (1:7). Interestingly, they WAIL, or mourn, instead of rejoice.
