One Dollar More
12/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 436 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond A well-known man by the name of John D. Rockefeller, one of the richest men of his time was asked what would make him more happy, and this is what he responded, "One dollar more." Can you imagine that kind of an answer? Think about that. Money can buy so much and it can do so much more for us, but can it buy happiness? Study after studies, it is shown that the desire for more stuff, more goods, more materialistic aspect has gone with the rise of income and is a “happiness suppressant”. So you accumulate more, but you're not as happy. Many studies have shown that. It's interesting. Money has been said, is just like oxygen. If you don't have oxygen, it could be a serious issue. It could cause serious illness and problem. It could even kill you but if you have what it needs for your body to breathe; the abundance of the oxygen is irrelevant; it doesn't serve any purpose for you, and so it is with joy of having what you need. Enjoy Your Work
11/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 435 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond Do you realize that according to the International Labor Organization, the average American works 1,979 hours per year which is over 400 hours more than Europeans and over 100 more than the Japanese? And this is of an increase in the last decades for a full week per year. Quite amazing. These changes are incredible if you think about the impact that it has on our lives. Now, work is a daily grind. What do we do, every single day when we go to work? Actually we spend more waking hours and some of the best years of our lives at our jobs than our homes. I heard of a story of a person who was driving by one of the bridges and that person saw, inside the toll booth, a man who was dancing, and the driver asked him, "Why are you dancing?" He said, "Because I am practicing. I'm having a party. I'm having a good time. I come to work every day and I'm surrounded with good things. I mean, my job is not boring. I've got a corner office,

A Man Walking
10/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 434 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond There are times in our lives where challenges and obstacles seem to be overwhelming. Things we can't understand or comprehend and not sure exactly where to go. A person can overcome these challenges by thinking about themselves and their position in the world. Now, obviously, you have to admit that there has to be somewhere in this world or universe, the Creator that put all this together. That's a premise you need to understand at first. Once you understand that, the vitality and indestructibility in the pure faith that there is a Creator, not in some kind of an abstract way, but One Who's hidden somewhere in the heavenly spheres and regards this world not from a distance but with absolute conscientious efforts and in a very personal way. One who is the very life and existence of everybody, and it permeates one at all times in everything that they do. You now know where there's such a faith, such a trust, such a belief. There

Exclusive Love
07/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 433 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond When a parent has a child, how much do they love that child? The truth is, limitless way, but even though they have this child that they love in a way which is unparalleled, unprecedented, as they have a second child, they also love that second child in a limitless way. How is that possible since there was not enough, love but yet it seems that the magic is recreated and they can love that child even more? Now, what happens if a child is born to those parents and that child is missing a limb or has an impediment, or a body missing of anything, something, like an organ perhaps, or a defect, whatever the case maybe? The parents love that child even more so than all the other children. They have a unique unparalleled, exclusive love that emerges from them, and this love is not because the child is missing something. It is because the parents feel that this child is unique in their way and therefore, from their own essence and b

Love One Another
06/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 432 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond When we think about creating happiness and making sure that we have a good life both in physical, emotional, and spiritual way, we can't help but consider the concept of love. Now, in most cultures, we think of love as something in romantic terms, something that has to do with another person, a soulmate, someone we search for and then we hopefully find. Interestingly enough, however, study after study has shown that married folks tend to be happier than single ones, so we know this is a good thing to do. The GARP Organization has gathered hundreds and hundreds of statistics showing that distinguishing a more profitable company from a productive company is literally all about finding out if the people have a best friend at work and these companies were rated so much higher. Isn't that interesting? No matter how particular these romantic circumstances could be, we're here to love and show appreciation to other people because t

Serious Conversation
05/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 431 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond If you're trying to have a serious conversation on those occasions when you really want your words to be taken seriously, here is a few tips that might help you. Some of these conversations can be taken lightly and therefore, you have to be careful about this. First, make sure that you choose a time in advance. Don't just make it so that it's unexpected. Choose a time when it is going to be a proper time to be able to deliver your message. Second, choose also the place, a moment and a place where things are going to be proper. Choose a moment where the mind is clear and most alert, most receptive, not towards the night or very early in the morning. Choose a time of the day that the other person will listen. Next, be careful of the setting. The setting itself, the elimination of any minor distraction, things where the listener will be completely tuned in so that you can deliver your message and it will make sense. Next, use bo

Remorse
04/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 430 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond At times, we do things which we know are improper, either in our eyes or in the eyes of society, or sometimes, for some of us, we believe in the eyes of G-d. So what should we do when we feel remorse about something which should not have done? What's the point of vocalizing our thoughts of remorse to anyone, for that matter? Aren't the thoughts and the feelings that are deep within us or within the deep recesses of our minds and the parts of our hearts revealed before us? We know what we've done. We know what it is. Well, for one reason is, the declaration of one's feeling that we take seriously when they are spoken, makes it real that we realize what we've done. So by expressing it, vocalizing it, we feel the remorse and we understand what we've done. It doesn't mean we dwell on it; it just means we express it. It also serves not only to reveal and reinforce our inner thoughts, but also to intensify them because spoken human

What Do You Have?
03/07/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 429 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond What do you have and what makes what you have yours? Have you thought about that? And yours, meaning this is your spouse, this is your children, this is your home or your job, or your car, your clothes, your reputation, things that you have, and if the word 'yours' applies to these things, how did you come to possess these things or these ideas? There are three ways. One way is to earn all those things. The other way is that it was given to you, and the third way is that it was inherited. Let me explain. The things that you earned are the things that you were able to buy. Perhaps you earned some money and you paid cash for it, and you bought that piece of furniture that you wanted or that phone, something that you felt you deserved because you are able to buy it. Things that were given to you or gifts, someone may have taught you some things that you learned and you appreciated that, or the love that you received from someon

Special Capabilities
30/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 428 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond Everything that happens in the world is by Divine Providence which means that it's all under G-d's watchful eye and due to His orchestration, if it happens this way or that way, it's all meant to be for the good. This is a concept which may or may not be accepted by everyone but it nevertheless, something which is real and true. Now, you may disagree and say, "I have control over what I want to do. I am the architect of my own destiny." That is the truth. However, everything else around you is about developing and helping you to a certain extent, using your special capabilities to be the best that you can be. For instance, take this idea of money. How much money do you have and what do you give, and how do you share that money with others? The person who has less money to give, is not at a disadvantage compared to someone who's able to give a more. If it was determined by Divine Providence that he should have less money to giv

Unity Beyond Comprehension
29/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 427 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond Often, we find people who ask, "I believe G-d exists. I'm just not sure how to prove it. I don't even know what to do with that sentence. I just know He exists," and we take things for granted because of that. The fact however, that the Creator of the world and however you wish to call “It” is unlike any other person that we know, that know where the knowledge and the things that are known is not something that we can grasp by human intellect. We can't understand that. It can't even be discussed or verbalized. The ear that can't hear it and the heart can't recognize it. It's difficult to interpret. The reason for this, is because we generally try to understand things that exist outside of ourselves by thinking about how it is in us or in a relationship to us, and then by projecting it outward. It is so completely foreign to us sometimes that our comprehension can't grasp it. We just don't know how to relate to that. Imagine th

Redeem a Compromise
28/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 426 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond You know, in our world today, we have an identity crisis which is so rampant, it's quite amazing. Human beings are the only ones asking, "So what now? What do we have to do? What are we going to be doing?" People are not sure how they're supposed to act from day to day. We don't know what to do with our lives. Now, there are two conclusions that we can reach: either we are inferior to all of the cosmos or we have a unique role in the cosmos. It's up to us and we make that decision. It's interesting. Darwin writes that in the Origin of Species, one of the ramifications of the Theory of Evolution is that there is fundamentally no difference between the human beings and the other species. We obviously know differently today, for many of us, anyway. Those who believe in the Creator, we know that this is not true. We can either be the missing link or bringing the whole world back to its completion and separated from its own source

Meaning in Your Life
27/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 425 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond I recently read about Viktor Frankl. He was a psychiatrist and also an author, and he survived some terrible times during the German concentration time. He was in concentration camps himself, and he claimed that he found, in the concentration camp, his calling; and this is what he said. “Every person has his own specific vocation or mission in life, and everyone”, he said, “must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment.” What that means is that the search that a person has to go through in order to find what this fulfillment is, is what gives us a reason to live, and that reason is for us to carry on this mission or this experience that we've gone through. So he found his in the concentration camps. It's quite interesting because of there he was, deluded literally from every single human right, but yet he made that to become his mission and he wrote about this. Now, many of us have a certain vocation, a missio

Everyone Will Benefit
26/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 424 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond Books that are written and poems, as well as podcasts, actually that are made are often about you. Basically, what I think, who I am, what I get, what I need. This podcast however, is about others. Let me explain. If you decide today to be happy for other’s sake, everyone around you will benefit. Everyone will benefit without an exception. You see, it says clearly that when we rely on our connections with other people for our own emotional stability, we only get that because of us. Studies have shown interestingly enough, that on navy ship, commanders, showed that the crew tend to catch the mood of the leader even when that leader was locked into his own cabin and away from everyone else, even not communicating with anyone else. That mood was able to literally transform everybody on the ship. As one writer said, what each of us learns has the potential of becoming a message to all humankind. What this means, however, is that n

You Don’t Need to Censor
23/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 423 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond People at times try to censor their lives. They try to block out the things which are not good in their past, or even in their present. There's a concept I read once about the 10,000 joys and the 10,000 sorrows. Now, if you think about that, what that means is that there was an equal amount of sorrows in your life as there is an amount of joy. This is what life is all about. Don't ever think that life is all about good things that you will feel, experience, or things that will always help you go on. That is what life is supposed to be. You have to recognize that at times, those failures are good for you. You have to recognize that the reason why these things happen is eventually for the good. It may not be today and it may not be something that you realize today, but eventually, you will. Life does go through us and we go through it. What that means is, that you want to be transformed as a consequence of the things that have ha

Aging
22/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 422 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond Just a little while ago, I got off the phone with a relative who has aged. This person has reached her late 80s, close to 90s. It is interesting that speaking with this woman, I found out that she is lonely. That's probably one of the hardest thing to live with. When you age, you become lonely. With loneliness comes fear and of course, this compounded with sometimes, medical issues, conditions, or diagnoses that seem to be dangerous, at that age, even the slightest movement outside by just the wind, can cause that person to be scared. So if you know aging people, it could be parents, relatives, or friends, show them support, show them that you care. There's no greater gift that you can give because at that age, there's not much that they can offer. Now, they have wisdom, tremendous amount of wisdom. After all, they've lived their full life and that life that they've lived is packed with wisdom of depth that would take any one

Positive Principle
21/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 421 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond There's a concept called the “positive principle”. It was actually designed and developed by a foundation. This foundation found out that when a person focuses on positive, then positive developments occur. While a person looks at negativity and continuously shine their light on the negative aspect, then only negative things happen. In other words, the more we recognize and reaffirm the things that we have that are working for us--our strengths, our successes, our potentials and the things we can develop, it gives us a better health, it gives us great feelings, it gives us a vitality, and we feel happier every single moment. Quite interesting, isn't it? Something else. The energy that is created by the positive thinking and the focusing on the positive, gives us an excitement to look towards even better things. Just like a plant. If you've ever seen a plant that you've put by the window, the leaves, over a short period of ti

The Violinist
20/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 420 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond Sometime ago, an famous violinist called Joshua Bell played in a subway station in Washington, DC. Now, he was playing his violin for about an hour. The night before, interestingly enough, he played in front of 50,000 people. They all acclaimed him as one of the world's most famous violinists. Interestingly enough, however, the next day, he decided to play in the subway and no one knew who he was, and hardly anyone even bothered to stop listening to him. It's amazing. In 45 minutes or so that he was playing, only about six people stopped. About 20 people, the story says, gave him a little money. He collected a total of $32 even though and unbeknownst to the people who were walking by, his violin was worth $3.5 million. There it was, just before that day, tickets were being sold at $100 and he played in front of hundreds of people, so what happened? Well, there's a concept called “a frame in art”. Art needs a frame. It needs

Against the Sea
19/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 419 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond I recently read a story about a man whose name was Alvarenga. He was a 37-year old fisherman and working in Mexico. On November 18, 2012, he decided that he was going to go out to the sea and go fishing. What he did not know is that there was a storm coming which would change his life forever, and not only that, his friend who went with him would never come back. Throughout the tumultuous waves and tremendous hardship that he went through, this trip lasted 438 days. It wasn't until January 30th, 2014 that he finally came home. Now, it was a cold rain on that day and he knew, possibly, that this may be a venture which would, at the end of his life, be the one that would change his ways and completely alter his thinking. When he came to the shore and the last time that he actually got off this boat, he was left face down on the beach, and he said that he held a handful of sand in his hand as though it was treasure. He was discov

Inch by Inch
16/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 418 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond A writer once said “You have to learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job.” Quite amazing, isn't it? Very interesting, indeed. “But to have more, however, than you have got at this point, you have got to become more than who you are”. So what does that mean and where does that lead us? Well, at the core of success and in all aspects of self-development, there is nothing greater than the concept of self-discipline. Self-discipline is the key to action, success, growth, and all imaginative ways that you can enhance your life, in every aspect, emotional, physical, psychological, spiritual, in every kind. Interestingly enough, self-discipline is something that you can control by yourself. How does self-discipline help and where does it come from? Well, here's the way it works. As one writer said, “inch by inch, everything is a cinch”. You have to start with the little disciplines and you have to begin to string

Express Value
15/06/2017 Duración: 03minDaily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 417 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond Have you ever heard the expression, “you must be happy with what you have while in pursuit of what you want”? This is so important to realize and understand at all times. What really matters to you, what you really feel should make you happy, and what kind of life you want to live. It's so important to know where you are. Sometimes, some of us have certain things that we live for or certain things that make us happy. To some people, it may be having more money. To others, might be buying a big home. To others, maybe a stable job or a great relationship, whatever the case may. It's interesting that if you research into happy people and you look at them closely, you will see that a key component of happiness is the ability to identify your true needs and then make it a priority to pursue it, whatever they are; it could be one need or multiple needs. That's the true to happiness. It is to lead a life that expresses our own values.
