In which, Andrew and Tracy discuss Ernest Cline’s well-loved novel Ready Player One and his newest book Armada, that recently hit bookstore shelves. This podcast does contain spoilers, so consider yourselves warned.

In which, Andrew, Tracy, and Becky go deeper into the subject of being a geek–specifically discussing how being geeks affects our relationships. Tracy briefly talks about her post-diploma trip, and Andrew and Becky reveal that they are engaged.

In which Andrew talks with Kelly Bender and Micah Myers, the writer and letterer of SNARL, and brand new independent comic out from Alterna Comics. The guys talk about the writing process, what it really takes to letter a comics and why it’s so important, and what it’s like working in comics outside of the Big Two. Kelly shares some great insights about the comic industry in Asia as well as his thoughts about the future of artist alley at conventions.

In which, Tracy is joined by Shaina and Teresa for Therefore I Geek’s first girls only podcast. They discuss what being a geek means to them and delve into the depths of their various fandoms.

***** SPOILER ALERT ***** In which, the Therefore I Geek regulars, Andrew and Tracy, staff writer Kurt Klein, and guest writer Becky Krantz discuss Avengers: Age of Ultron. We learn that Ultron’s origin story is awkward because it got majorly changed from the comics, that Andrew has learned to recognize Buffy-speak, and that compliment sandwiches are actually critique sandwiches, because, “Sandwiches are defined by what’s in the middle.” Becky brings some brilliant semi-feminist insights to the group, and Kurt anchors the conversation with some differing opinions. In general, everyone is pretty enthusiastic.

In which, Andrew and Tracy get to meet the “comic book industry’s greatest sidekick,” Pat Loika, of the Loikamania podcast! Pat has some great insight into what it means to be a fan of classic and modern comics, and tells us a little bit about his own experiences with industry giants such as Brian Michael Bendis and Jonathon Hickman. Mostly, we just sit back and listen to his cool stories and ask occasional questions.

In which, Andrew, Tracy, and Kyle White spend an afternoon watching the original Ghostbusters and then chat about why the movie is the “perfect comedy.” We also discuss where Harold Ramis took his acting inspiration, why the special effects have held up so well, over thirty years later, and how Sigourney Weaver is especially hot in dark eye makeup and big hair.

In which, Mike Kennedy from Magnetic Press tells us all about what it takes to start a small press comic business, digs deep into the digital vs. physical comics debate, and tells us what comics a comic publisher reads. We learn a lot about the comics industry in Europe and what goes into the translation of comic scripts from French to English.

The lemongrass incident one, in which Mike Federali returns to the Therefore I Geek podcast with more whimsical conversation than ever before. Topics include the upcoming spring Tidewater Comicon show, Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion’s new project Con Man, whether or not J. R. R. Tolkien’s middle initials stand for “Really Rad” (hint: they do), and an impassioned plea for all Disney stores to sell Marvel comics from now on.

In which, Tracy, Andrew, Kyle, and Shane McNulty converse about stuff from our childhoods that has been rebooted, specifically Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and GI Joe. We also get a little sidetracked into discussions of Game of Thrones, Hannibal, Blair Witch Project, and whether or not Jason Statham is actually a good actor. Shane would also like to shout out to his niece Rhiana for getting into Harvard!
