The Judge of All the Earth Will Do Right — Genesis 18 • All must stand before the Judge of the earth and give an account of their lives. • God is a righteous Judge who cannot allow sin to go unpunished. • Only God could find a way to punish Jesus for our sin and extend grace and mercy to those who trust in His work on the cross. As We Go… No matter what you have done or how far you have run or how hard you have fallen, your Heavenly Father is waiting to receive you back with open arms and restore you as His precious child.

Traces of the Chosen One, Part 2 Jesus our Servant King • The Chosen One would be a greater prophet than Moses. [Deut. 18:15-19, John 5:39-47, Hebrews 3:1-6] • The Chosen One would be the Lion of the tribe of Judah. [Genesis 49:8-12, Revelation 5:1-10] • The Chosen One would be the root of Jesse, the righteous Branch. [Isaiah 11:1-13, Jer. 33:14-16, Romans 15:8-12, Rev. 22:16] • The Chosen One would be the promised son of David and the servant King of Israel. [2 Samuel 7:10-16, Isaiah 9:6-7, Luke 1:26-33, Mt. 22:41-46] As We Go … Let your light shine this Christmas by serving others in the name of Jesus and bring glory to our Father in Heaven.

[Numbers 24:15-19] As We Go … Rejoice in the coming of Christ the King and proclaim the good news of His salvation to all nations until He returns.

Genesis 17 — The Son of Promise and the Circumcision of the Heart I. God’s everlasting covenant with Abraham promised to provide the inclusion of a multitude of believers from the Gentile nations. [Genesis 17:1-8] II. Circumcision has never been a condition for salvation but rather serves as an outward sign for the set apart household of God. [Genesis 17:9-14] III. Circumcision of the flesh means absolutely nothing without the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit and the circumcision of the heart. [Deuteronomy 30:1-6, Romans 2:25-29] IV. Isaac is a prophetic shadow picture of Jesus in that he was conceived supernaturally as the beloved son of his father — the seed of the woman and son of promise — through which God would redeem the world. [Genesis 17:15-27] As we Go … Plead with the Holy Spirit to search the depths of your heart, convict you of sin, and cut away the desires of the flesh.

Genesis 16 The God who Hears Me and Sees Me I. We are most tempted to doubt God and take matters into our own hands when we forget that His ways are not our ways and His timing is always perfect. [Genesis 16:1-4] II. Sin will always yield painful consequences and damage our most valued relationships in life. [Genesis 16:4-6] III. Despite our bad choices, God is full of mercy and compassion and comes to find us and comfort us in our most desperate times of need. [Genesis 16:7-10] IV. Our God hears us when we cry out to Him and sees us when we feel invisible to the rest of the world, knowing us better than anyone yet still loving us more than everyone. [Genesis 16:11-16] As we Go … No matter how far you’ve run, turn to Jesus today — the One who hears you and sees you and knows you and loves you!

The Promised Land — Genesis 15:7-21 • The LORD cut a covenant with Abram and distinctly bound Himself to the Promised Land as His own treasured possession. [Genesis 15:1-11] • The Promised Land is the spiritual and geographical epicenter of earth, as the most sought after and fought over piece of real estate in the universe. [Genesis 15:12-21] • The LORD promised that one day He will gather all of His people from exile, bring us back home, and give us this land as an everlasting possession in the Kingdom of Christ. [Genesis 17:5-8] • As We Go … As we live as strangers and exiles in this world, let us look forward to the day that we will inherit the Promised Land and be at home with the Lord forever.

Genesis 14:18-24 — The Mystery and Ministry of Melchizedek •Melchizedek represents the eternal order of prophet, priest, and king, ordained by God from the beginning. •God separated these three offices among the tribes of Israel, as a temporary solution to a permanent problem — the holiness of God. •Jesus is the only One who meets all the qualifications as the Word made flesh, King of kings, our great High Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. •Now that Christ has come, He has authenticated God’s word, given us kingdom authority, and given us direct access to His throne in heaven! As We Go … Like Melchizedek, we have become a royal priesthood in Christ and have been commissioned to bless the world with the good news!

Walk by Faith — Not by Sight Genesis 12-13 • Like Abram, we are called to walk by faith as wanderers in this world, awaiting our future inheritance in the land of Promise. [Genesis 12:4-9, 13:14-18] • Like Abram, we often make decisions by leaning on our own understanding, but the LORD will direct our steps in the end. • Like Lot, it is tempting to walk by sight and fall in love with the world, moving dangerously close to the edge of sin. As We Go … Walk by faith by keeping your eyes and setting your mind on the hope of heaven above, where all the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus!
