Two recent news articles exposed some rather shameful behavior regarding a couple of families. In one article, parents traded sex with their daughter for car payments. Could this ill behavior be a symptom of hard economic times? Then what about this other family where the father repeatedly raped his daughters over years thinking only him and his offspring would survive the end of the world. Is this apocalyptic mindset a result of the signs of the times given the increase in wars, earthquakes, famines and natural disasters and such? Or is there some other simpler explanation for these shameful acts being perpetrated by parents upon their daughters?

Allegations of many scandalous affairs have led to media condemnation of the world’s first billion dollar athlete. For nearly three months, Tiger Woods has completely avoided the press. But on February 19, 2010, Tiger held a press conference where he openly apologized to his wife and mother amongst others. Was this open apology necessary? If so, did he apologize to everyone that he should have?

Abraham Shakespeare, a poor illiterate black man from a rural town just outside Tampa, Florida, cashed in his 30 million dollar lottery winnings for a one time payout of 17 million dollars. That was in 2006. In April 2009, he was murdered, and then buried 5 feet deep under a 30-by-30 foot concrete slab behind his neighbor’s house. It was only recently that police discovered the body and identified the remains. Did the lottery money have a role in his death? We can only speculate since the facts surrounding this case are sketchy. What we can do is discuss money and its good and evil devices.

People go to church but have they really changed. Churches today are they really teaching repentance and correcting people for their sins that they will learn to be like Christ.

I listen to many online and TV and radio ministers men and women and repentance is far from the doctrine that they teach. Why isn't repentance being taught in churches today and what do we have to repent of if anything.

The motion picture Avatar may be the very best movie ever. But it is perhaps too good for some viewers. As with any truly great film, viewers are subject to reminisce for hours or days afterwards. However, for some, the reminiscence has sadly grown into depression.
