Many believers have faced incredible battles in their lives and quite simply are in need of divine help. Psalm 20 is a wonderful prayer of help in the day of trouble and an expectancy that God will send help from His Sanctuary. All through the scriptures we see the God of Heaven reaching into the lives of His people by truly sending help in the day of trouble. Take heart! Your help is on the way!

The book of Joshua is one of the most exciting books of the Bible in showing how God was taking his people into His Promises. This was unchartered territory for them and was "off their map". This generation had not been there before but now, led by Joshua, they would go beyond the boundaries of their last 40 years. God takes all of us off of the map that we have become accustomed to. He takes us beyond our borders to a place where we've never been. This message will encourage us to have the courage to follow God off the map and in return reap the blessings of doing so.

On the first Sunday of the year this message was preached for the body of PVAG to expect this to be a year of blessing. However it will not be a year of blessing because God suddenly remembered to bless us but rather, we as individuals, families and the corporate body learn realize the blessings God desires to pour out. Simply put, God desires to bless and we need to learn HOW to walk in those blessings. Make this year a year of blessing.

God is currently raising up a generation of young people who are going to be radically used by God in the coming years. This message uses an illustration of The Moses Generation, The Joshua Generation and The Judah Generation. No matter your age you are part of one of these groups and have a mandate from God in the landscape of what He is doing on the face of the earth. The church is the place for all generations to exist to carry out His work. As you listen to this message no doubt you will see your place in the unending saga of God's story.

Isaiah gave a prophetic description of the Branch that would be born out of the stump of Jesse. During a dark time in the history of Israel when the kingdom of David was nearly extinct God's promise of a future King was announced. That Branch was Jesus Christ the Messiah. They would find hope through this prophetic announcement that a King would be born that was even greater than the Davidic kingdom. We believers today live with the realization of that birth but also with the hope that we have in the coming King and the establishment of His kingdom on earth.

Following the tragic shootings in Connecticut this message centers on the inability of man to overcome evil without a redeemed heart. The Bible declares that man is not basically good and needs a redemption of our hearts, mind and souls that help us overcome our own sinfulness. Although not to the extent of murder and mayhem each heart is deceitfully wicked and in need of redemption.

This weekend PVAG Productions presented a musical production entitled Joy in the City, and this became the basis for the message. Centered on the story in the book of Acts of Philip ministering in a city in Samaria, this message highlights how joy came to a city. When Spirit-filled people minister the principles of God's kingdom to a city the result has to be joy. In this message you will be challenged as to whether or not you seek happiness or joy. You will be challenged to be a spirit-filled conduit through whom God brings joy to a city.

The sinful woman came into the Pharisee's house in search of Jesus performing a powerful demonstration of love and worship. In so doing she opened up a precious expensive jar of perfume that permeated the air. The beauty of this story though is not the treasure that was in the alabaster jar it was the woman who was the treasure. She was a treasure rescued from a dark place. This message will challenge you to see yourself as a treasure that God brought out of darkness. It will also, as important, cause you to view others as a treasure that God is going to deliver from the darkness of the abyss.

We often look at FEAR as something to be avoided. But, this message takes a challenging and motivating approach to the common human emotion of fear. We also see a sketch of what goes on in the mind of a typical christian when provided the opportunity for ministry outside of the church walls.

In Luke 4 Jesus announces his ministry by reading the scroll of Isaiah giving insight to His purpose for being. The bible says that the people were amazed at the gracious words that fell from His lips. These were words of grace that would give insight to His ministry of grace to the world. This message not only highlights the aspects of His ministry of grace but how you and I receive those benefits today.

Jesus was teaching in the temple area when the religious group brought the woman caught in adultery. They were using the law to destroy this woman but what would this man, the Messiah say? There was about to be a collision between grace and the law. Sadly this still happens today between those who trust in a religious, legalistic approach to God and those who live by grace. This message details what happens when grace meets law in the life of the believer.

When Jesus comes back there is something that he is looking for…Faith. Will he find faith versus unbelief, religious works, fear, or self-righteousness? In the context of this verse Jesus is coming looking for people of faith. This message centers on how we, his disciples, live now in waiting and longing for the fullness of His kingdom.

If you were to ask people why the church seems to lack supernatural power you would get a myriad of answers. While there are a lot of answers that might seem plausible this message centers on one that was demonstrated in the book of Acts: grace. Through the book of Acts you see the Good News of the Kingdom being preached and "God confirmed the message of HIs grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders." (Acts 14:3) This message centers on the indispensable connection between grace and power. Where His grace was preached His power was manifested.

Jesus promised the presence of the Holy Spirit would clothe the disciples. Jesus himself modeled that when he walked the earth as a man. Yet in order to refresh, renew and be filled with continual power he retreated to a secret place for He and His Father. Jesus tells us, believers, to do the same today. No doubt when we go into our "secret place" with God we are reconnecting and renewing with the source of our power. If you want power than this message will encourage you to connect with Him in the secret place.

Jesus promised his disciples that they would be clothed with power from on high but to wait in the city until it came. The promise was a clothing of power. And, this clothing wasn't optional for the life they were to live and the calling that was upon their lives. That power would come in the form of the presence of the Holy Spirit. All too often this promise of being clothed with power is looked at as optional rather than an absolute necessity. In the case of the victorious, overcoming, powerful Christian, this clothing is not optional.

God promised for centuries to pour out His Spirit upon flesh. Jesus promised the presence of the Holy Spirit while upon this earth. Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit upon the disciples and He told them to not leave Jerusalem without the promise of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Heaven who resides within believers today. We must understand that we "host" a heavenly presence and our lives should reflect that. When we live in the attitude that I am hosting Heaven's spirit my life dramatically changes.

In Exodus 33 God told Moses to lead the people up to the land He promised but He would not go with them. In light of that statement Moses began to intercede to God to teach him His ways so he could do what He had called him to do. Out of that request God told Moses that His Presence would go with him. Moses replied with: "If your Presence does not go with us do not send us" Moses preferred His Presence over God's promise. Many people are seeking His promises outside of His Presence yet today believers walk in the era when the Promise is the Presence of the Holy Spirit. This message will challenge you to walk in the promise of God through the presence of the Spirit on a daily basis.

The Bible says that David did what was right and just for all of the people of his kingdom. He did this because he knew he was God's chosen man to lead the people so justice and righteousness would have to be administered. Their is injustice in the world today but God still chooses for his believers to bring a justice to this through faith.
