Our culture in America has us think that being a reactionist is the way we ought to be. This week Pastor John talks about the 3rd value in our mission statement at Living Spring Church, and that is to RESPOND to the move of The Spirit.

The great news is that our Heavenly Father is in the restoration business. The not so fun news, is that it involves a process. Often much longer than we would like to admit to ourselves. Fortunately, Jesus is not one who will ever give up on transforming our lives into more than we could ever dream of. This week, Pastor John talks about how that process is through wholehearted surrender to our Savior.

We all have a role in the church to reach our local communities as well as our circles of influence. This week we talk about the first of 3 parts of our mission statement at Living Spring Church, to reach our neighborhood and surrounding community with the love of the Father.

Epiphany is the celebration of the revelation of Jesus. Through the help of the story of the wise men we will explore how God reveals himself to us and how we are invited to reveal Jesus to others.

2022 wrapped up a couple years of stalls, distractions, polarization and confusion. If we are to move forward we will need to figure out what we value and then stay focused. In this series we will be reviewing some missteps of our past and encouraging each other to move forward in health. Let’s stay focused together. We all go through various transitions and chapter changes in life. Some we bring on ourselves and some our brought on us. This week we look at a person in the Bible that encounters God in a unique way. While we may never encounter a burning bush, what we learn from that encounter can be applied to anytime God wants us to move forward. 

Our culture tells us we need to be informed and have a steadfast opinion about whatever the hot topic subject may be. Following Christ is not an ability to be informed, but a willingness to be transformed. This week Pastor John talks about how Mary’s curiosity and a willingness to be transformed helped with her calling to give birth to the Son of Man.

The Holidays Season can often be filled with a lot of noise. This week Pastor John talks about a gift given to us that we often overlook, the gift of silence.

Jesus wants us to be free from ourselves. One of the keys to this He has given us is the act of forgiveness. When our brokenness combines with others woundedness, it creates a debt that cannot be repaid. This week, Pastor John talks about how we can unshackle ourselves from the trap of being unforgiving of others.

The holidays are experienced with many highs and lows. Seeing family and friends can be just as life giving as it can be soul draining. In this series we celebrate the gift of Jesus. Jesus not only came to save us but also to empower us to live a life of victory just as He modeled. Whatever this holiday season brings, Jesus can help us navigate it. Each week we will remember the story of his coming and walk away with some tools on how to thrive as we are home for the holidays. This week we talk about thankfulness.

Having gone through a pandemic, we got used to “doing church at home”. That is not what the Bible tells us about what community is all about. We were created to live together as a Christian body. A body is not complete without all of its parts, and one of the most important parts of that body is YOU!

As followers of Jesus, we have access to the best news in the entire universe! We are commissioned to proclaim the good news of Jesus in word and deed. How will you share the goodness of God with others in your life this holiday season?

You have heard it said that money is the root of all evil. That is not true according to what the bible tells us. It is the love of money that is the root of all kinds of evils. This week, Pastor John talks about how God views money as we continue with our Rooted series.

You have accepted Jesus as your savior, is that it? Is that all is asked of us? Jesus exemplified a life what He expects from us as His followers. This week we continue to explore what Jesus wants his followers to DO for ALL others.

Our culture in the West promotes a “you deserve it” attitude. Jesus sees it differently and commands us to have a servant like mindset, no matter what our role in life may be. This week, Pastor John talks about how God humbled himself and served his disciples by washing thier feet.

We have an enemy the devil who prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. This is why it is so important to know the Word of God and have it written on our hearts. This week, Pastor John talks about staying alert and of sober mind with our eyes open.

Where is God where there is so much suffering in the world? That is a great question. This week Pastor John talks about how Jesus meets us in places that just don’t make sense and reminds us, He is always with us.

One might think to themselves, “I have never heard God speak to me”. The real question is, “are we listening?” This week, Pastor John talks about how God speaks to us, when we truly listen to Him.

This week, Pastor John dives into the question of “Who is God?”. His ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts like ours. The heart of our Heavenly Father is bigger than we could ever imagine and we listen to a parable told by Jesus that describes just how compassionate the creator of the universe is.

Everyone knows someone great at what they do.  Whether it is an athlete, CEO, mom, musician, cook or whatever, those people that excel have a couple things in common. They submit themselves to the best practices of their craft and they do it over and over again. The shaping of our soul is no different. To thrive in our relationship with Jesus we need to submit ourselves to certain practices that Jesus taught and that people with vibrant spiritual lives incorporate into their life rhythms. This week we begin the discussion of what those are and why they are important.

This week, we hear from Pastor Christina with an update from Empowering Lives International (ELI). She delivers a wonderful message of restoration, which is what our Savior specializes in!
