The names we use or give to someone can either allow them to be who they really are, or confine them to our own expectations. Gideon did the latter when he laid out the famous “fleece” before the Lord. Give a listen to learn why this was a bad idea and how the Lord can be with us even when we’re headed the wrong way.

Our spiritual lives are about taking out the things that hurt our soul and putting in the things that nourish it and bring us closer to God. How do we take those unhealthy elements out? Sometimes we just need a spiritual sledgehammer.

Gideon brought something simple to God and He turned it into something sacred. This week we discuss what that looks like in our lives. Can God make something sacred out of our simple decisions?

We often associate death with loss and sadness. Part of that is true. But what if I told you that death often brings life? Is there something in your life that needs to die in order to experience true life? We discuss that this week.

Sometimes when God calls us out, our first reaction is fear. But we can rest assured that because we are deeply loved by Him, those fears can be put aside.

We don't often associate "peace" with authority. But what if the person in authority really had you best interests in mind? This week we talk about the Prince...of Peace.

Whether you have good, bad, or non-existent memories of your dad, you can find comfort in knowing that Jesus is named our Everlasting Father. He will never leave us or forsake us. He cares for us, provides for us, rejoices with us, and mourns with us. He guides us and advises us. He gives us good gifts, and He disciplines us when necessary.

Choosing the right name for your child is something that many parents take very seriously. So why was the name Mighty God chosen for Jesus? The answer is essential to our beliefs and faith.

Yet many people have this idea about God; that He expects you to just stop sinning. Thankfully, we have a wise, loving, and committed Wonderful Counselor who wants to guide us and teach us how to let go of our struggles and embrace the life He has for us.

As we close the Good & Beautiful Life series, only one thing is left: go live a good & beautiful life! If we don't apply all that we have learned, it doesn't do us any good. The bible urges us to be "doers of the Word" and not just a hearer. What is one area of your life where you can begin to apply the teachings from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount? *At the end of this podcast there will be a 5-minute silence and prayer excericise that encourage you to complete. When you think of experiencing a "move of the Holy Spirit", what comes to mind? For most of us, a move of God means something supernatural, miraculous, or awe-inspiring; like seeing someone healed right in front of you. While God chooses to work in these ways at times, Jesus is pointing us to a different way of experiencing God's power during the famous Beattitudes message. According to Jesus, being meek and lowly, or mistreated for Christ's sake can be miraculous events when those times are used to bring glory back to God. Let's seek Him in the everyday, today.

Perspective truly is everything, especially when it comes to what we think about others. The trouble is, sometimes we come to conclusions about people before we know what their story is, and make judgements without enough perspective on the situation. Instead of judging others this week, let's try to give people the benefit of the doubt and show grace. We may find that our way of viewing others will begin to change in the process.
