Episodios

  • Secure: Names

    15/03/2015

    The names we use or give to someone can either allow them to be who they really are, or confine them to our own expectations. Gideon did the latter when he laid out the famous “fleece” before the Lord. Give a listen to learn why this was a bad idea and how the Lord can be with us even when we’re headed the wrong way.

  • Secure: Sledgehammer

    08/03/2015

    Our spiritual lives are about taking out the things that hurt our soul and putting in the things that nourish it and bring us closer to God. How do we take those unhealthy elements out? Sometimes we just need a spiritual sledgehammer.

  • Secure: Offerings

    01/03/2015

    Gideon brought something simple to God and He turned it into something sacred. This week we discuss what that looks like in our lives. Can God make something sacred out of our simple decisions?

  • Secure: The Winepress

    22/02/2015

    How do you see yourself? Powerful? Anxious? Barely hanging on? Well, there is a great chance that God sees you differently and more accurately than you see yourself. And He has somethig to say about it.

  • Memories

    15/02/2015

    Why is remembering so hard? Why is it so easy to hold on to stories that didn’t quite happen? Our memories can be a tool the Lord uses for us, and it starts with remembering how much we are loved. Pastor Bob brings us the message this week.

  • When God?

    08/02/2015

    We all understand that bad thinks happen in life. But what do you do when you've done everything you can and now you are waiting on God? Why won't He do what we want?

  • What Do You See?

    01/02/2015

    If you really knew how Jesus sees you, what would your life look like? Our perceptions determine our actions, but they can often become skewed by outside influences. Guest speaker Rhianna Pierre joins us this week.

  • Vision 2015: Respond {Be Changed}

    25/01/2015

    Has God ever asked you to do something big? How about something small? Oftentimes the process is the same. His goal is the same as well...to grow closer to you.

  • Vision 2015: Restore {Believe}

    18/01/2015

    Have you ever tried to restore something? Maybe a car or a piece of furniture or a house? There are a couple things we all know about restoration: 1) It’s going to take time. 2) It’s going to cost something. There is one thing we often forget though; 3) It takes vision. God has this vision when he restores you.

  • Vision 2015: Reach {Belong}

    11/01/2015

    Our relationship with God is not just about ourselves. It’s about coming along side of others. Not to convince them to believe something, but to help them experience blessing. This is what God had planned from the beginning and it’s the first part of Living Spring's mission.

  • Just One Thing 2015

    04/01/2015

    We often associate death with loss and sadness. Part of that is true. But what if I told you that death often brings life? Is there something in your life that needs to die in order to experience true life? We discuss that this week.

  • Fear Not

    28/12/2014

    Sometimes when God calls us out, our first reaction is fear. But we can rest assured that because we are deeply loved by Him, those fears can be put aside.

  • And He Shall Be Called: Prince of Peace

    21/12/2014

    We don't often associate "peace" with authority. But what if the person in authority really had you best interests in mind? This week we talk about the Prince...of Peace.

  • And He Shall Be Called: Everlasting Father

    14/12/2014

    Whether you have good, bad, or non-existent memories of your dad, you can find comfort in knowing that Jesus is named our Everlasting Father. He will never leave us or forsake us. He cares for us, provides for us, rejoices with us, and mourns with us. He guides us and advises us. He gives us good gifts, and He disciplines us when necessary.

  • And He Shall Be Called: Mighty God

    07/12/2014

    Choosing the right name for your child is something that many parents take very seriously. So why was the name Mighty God chosen for Jesus? The answer is essential to our beliefs and faith.

  • and He shall be called: Wonderful Counselor

    30/11/2014

    We started off the sermon with this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Iu31iFyeI&feature=youtu.be Obviously, you would never go to see a therapist whose only advice was to just stop doing the things that you are struggling with. Yet many people have this idea about God; that He expects you to just stop sinning. Thankfully, we have a wise, loving, and committed Wonderful Counselor who wants to guide us and teach us how to let go of our struggles and embrace the life He has for us.

  • G&B Life: Go Live It!

    23/11/2014

    As we close the Good & Beautiful Life series, only one thing is left: go live a good & beautiful life! If we don't apply all that we have learned, it doesn't do us any good. The bible urges us to be "doers of the Word" and not just a hearer. What is one area of your life where you can begin to apply the teachings from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount? *At the end of this podcast there will be a 5-minute silence and prayer excericise that encourage you to complete. Pastor John will then end the time with some closing words.*

  • G&B Life: Beattitudes

    16/11/2014

    When you think of experiencing a "move of the Holy Spirit", what comes to mind? For most of us, a move of God means something supernatural, miraculous, or awe-inspiring; like seeing someone healed right in front of you. While God chooses to work in these ways at times, Jesus is pointing us to a different way of experiencing God's power during the famous Beattitudes message. According to Jesus, being meek and lowly, or mistreated for Christ's sake can be miraculous events when those times are used to bring glory back to God. Let's seek Him in the everyday, today.

  • G&B Life: Judging

    09/11/2014

    Perspective truly is everything, especially when it comes to what we think about others. The trouble is, sometimes we come to conclusions about people before we know what their story is, and make judgements without enough perspective on the situation. Instead of judging others this week, let's try to give people the benefit of the doubt and show grace. We may find that our way of viewing others will begin to change in the process.
