Gas stations are one of the critical businesses in New Jersey allowed to stay open at all hours. New Jersey is also the only state in the U.S. where it's illegal to pump your own gas. As a consequence, people who pump gas in the Garden State are now firmly on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, stuck between performing a critical job and trying to maintain social distancing recommendations.
