Day One of Mental Health Awareness Week on IKF is about Detection. I invited Brandi Newry Ed.S.on the show she is Psychologist and Behavior Specialist working inside of public schools to help students and their adjustments as well as helping detect different signs mental disorders. In her work, she works with students up to the age 18 and acts as a conduit to assisting with students and parents. In this episode, we discuss the difference between normal behavioral issues and when issues turn into something more than behavior problems. We explore how to detect potential symptoms and how schools and parents can work together to address issues earlier.
