Job 42:2 - “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. Sermon Point #1 – God’s Kingdom expands during difficult times. Acts 8:1-4 - On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. Sermon Point #2 – When the church pursues and/or achieves power, the power of the Gospel is diminished. 1 Timothy 6:3-10 - If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between people of corrupt
