Upon retiring several years ago, she opened her own studio to pursue her passion of being a full-time artist.   Dee's creative process in the studio is a playful exploration of colour and shapes as well as different materials. She states, "The right side of my brain loves the freedom of abstraction but the left side of my brain tends to steer me back to structure, symmetry, precision and organization. It's a constant battle!" Dee works with acrylics, oils, inks and pastels. She doesn't like the limitations of one medium.   She enjoys working on a "series".
