As a Commissioner on Aging and an elder advocate, Brian has seen, up close, many of the issues Nancy refers to; the overworked nursing home employees, the failure of families to visit the medically dependent, the sometimes intentional but often unintentional neglect of nursing home residents. Both Brian and Nancy give concrete suggestions to prepare you for caring for loved ones that end up in those circumstances. Because of the current government takeover of healthcare the threat of limited and intentional rationing of the care given to these patients is very, very real.
