In this episode of Life Matters, Commissioner Johnston issues a special update regarding the actual status of Texas law SB-8. When it was signed into law by Governor Abbot of Texas,  pro-abortion forces immediately sought to have it stayed by the courts, to prevent it from going into effect. This request was sent up to the US Supreme Court and specifically to Justice Alito, who is responsible for the sixth district federal court of appeals. He referred the matter to the full court.  The US Supreme Court did not rule on the merits of the law, it simply stated it was not appropriate to stop or enjoin the law until it has been reviewed by the lower courts.  The media immediately swung into action and decried the Supreme Court for following its principles and standard procedures.
