Electronic musician Scanner (otherwise known as Robin Rimbaud) is world-famous for his powerful ambient works. He is creating a new sound installation for the Fitzrovia Chapel, which used to be the chapel of the old Middlesex Hospital before it was demolished. The piece will be made of snippets of recordings from people who used to work in the hospital and will play as part of FitzFest in June. I spoke to Scanner about the piece, the power of buildings and the changing nature of London.
