I recently made a study of more than ninety occasions when the word ‘sustain’ appears in English translations. Not only those who are physically confined, but those who have to trudge great distances to fetch food and water – and the millions who have been adversely affected, mentally as well as financially, by lockdown are in need of being upheld by the Lord when they are in danger of sinking.
