Car seats, kids water bottles, calling parents by their first names -  all things that never existed when we were growing up. When we took car trips as kids the highlight was riding facing backwards in the station wagon with one working lap belt. But now, oh boy, the rules of parenting have changed; from discipline to technology to constant water consumption it's all water bottles all the time. Was it better then or is it better now?
