It’s Monday which means another brand new sparkly podcast episode! This interview like all of the others that have come before this, is important. In this episode I chat with Laura Barton who is an author of a book series called project Dermatillomania, Laura also works in communications for Canada BFRB which is a non-profit that looks at Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours such as skin picking. . For as long as I can remember I have picked my skin on my fingers, sometimes until they bleed. I do not like doing it, sometimes I don’t even know that I am doing it. I think because it’s been with me for so long I’ve not given it any attention and even hidden it from myself. I didn’t have any awareness about it until seeing Liz Atkin’s TedX talk called “Re-imagining Compulsive Skin Picking: Art for Recovery”. Then Laura reached out to me. .
