Sinopsis
In this episode we interview Martha Reyna who shares her journey to becoming a Pediatric Transplant Nurse for the children’s hospital. She unfolds her story on being a young mom of two children, working full-time, and attending nursing school. In the US, there are less than 5% Latino/a nurses and Martha is eager to change that. Attending nursing school was not easy, especially being one of the very few Latinas, which is why she decided to start a movement to inspire and motivate more Latinos to enter healthcare by launching Latina, RN. She wanted Latinas entering healthcare to know they were not alone despite all the barriers they are faced to finish the difficult nursing program. Martha shares tips on how she managed her time, study tips, how she overcame self-doubt, and where she wants to take Latina, RN.
