Ep. 2.3 Things We Wish We'd Said

Informações:

Sinopsis

Nadia introduces the second of our two episodes on women’s experiences with DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Back in September, she interviewed her longtime friend Nancy, who grew up undocumented in the United States and left the country less than one year before the Obama administration launched DACA in 2012. The program designates about 800,000 undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children as “low priority” for deportation and allows them to work. Nadia and Nancy’s conversation about DACA happened shortly after President Trump had just announced that he was ending the DACA program on March 5, 2018. It’s currently tied up in the federal court system. Nancy talks about living without legal status in rural Texas, what it’s like starting over without her family, and why she decided to speak out about her experience.
