In 1967 the arrest of black men and women that were peacefully enjoying themselves at an after hours nightclub in a black neighborhood by white police officers sparked the fuse for the start of the Detroit Riots. Ultimately the shooting death of three more unarmed black men after three white officers terrorized a group of black hotel patrons fueled even more anger. As the cops covered up their murder and blamed the victims for their deaths, tensions flared.
