Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). When it comes to the discussions of how we actually reign in life through Jesus Christ, James 4:7 is the scripture we need to go to. We as believers must resist the devil, and if we do, he will flee from us. This is how we reign in life. 　But most importantly, this scripture tells us to submit ourselves to God first. What does this mean? Try to see that there are two rivers running in the spiritual world: one is Satan’s river where Satan’s spirit is flowing, and the other is God’s river where God’s spirit is flowing. There is nothing in between, and you are either in Satan’s river or in God’s river. The following scripture tells us in which river we used to be floating: As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient (Eph 2:1-2).
