This bacterium was one of 45 initially isolated from frogs, newts, and lizards. After screening, it stood out due to its powerful anticancer effects. Using a mouse model of colorectal cancer, studies showed that a single intravenous dose too his bacterium eradicated 100 percent of cancers. This bacterial treatment outperforms chemotherapy and immune checkpoint drugs.These frog bacteria destroy cancer cells using two mechanisms. First, the bacteria naturally target and multiply inside tumors killing them.
