Sinopsis
The New York Mets offense was blanked and just one run was enough to sink them, as they fell to the Philadelphia Phillies by a finale of 1-0.Since scoring 22 runs in two games against the Detroit Tigers, it has been a struggle for the Mets offensively. After scoring just two runs yesterday against the Cincinnati Reds, they weren't able to muster anything off this Phillies squad. Nolan McLean got the start, and some of the same struggles from his last start out appeared again today. Yet, he was able to battle and give the Mets 5.1 solid innings and keep them in the game. With just 18 games to go, every one of these games matters as there are teams lurking behind the Mets for that final Wild Card spot. These two teams are back at it again tomorrow, with the Mets sending Sean Manaea to the mound to get them back in the win column.
