Another night, another blowout to the Philadelphia Phillies. This time the New York Mets fell by a final of 11-3. Well, it seems like the Mets are in a free fall right now. They have now lost five games in a row and have just a two game lead for the third and final Wild Card spot in the National League. And it's the same issues that have been plaguing them since back in the middle of June. The starting pitching has been an issue, and Clay Holmes allowed four runs over four innings of work. The offense was great in August, but has gone back to be in a complete funk. Running out of time, the Mets need to snap out of this quickly if they want to remain in postseason contention.
