Locked On Mets

The New York Mets erased a five-run deficit to force the game into extras, but a defensive miscue allowed the Guardians to plate two runs without a hit, and the Mets fell 7-6.Sean Manaea got the start and through the first five innings, it looked like vintage Sean Manaea. The sixth inning however saw a blow up from Manaea, giving the Guardians a five spot.The Mets offense had a quick response. After a pair of miscues defensively by the Guardians, Pete Alonso slugged career home run number 251 to get the Mets on the board. In the 8th inning, it was the top of the lineup getting the job done. Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto got things started with singles, and it Alonso along with Mark Vientos that plated the runs to tie the game. A golden chance in the 9th for New York, saw them load up the bases but were unable to get the winning run across. The 10th saw a defensive miscue from Brett Baty give the Guardians back the lead and then a sac-fly added on the insurance run. An emotional roller-coaster, the Mets will
