Sinopsis
Down two in the top of the 9th, the New York Mets were able to rally to tie the game but fell to a walk-off in the bottom of the inning. The Mets pitching plan went about as perfect as you could have asked for. Clay Holmes gave the Mets five solid innings, allowing just two earned runs. Sean Manaea came in and looked like he didn't miss a beat, striking out seven over 3.1 innings pitched. Offensively, the Mets were very quiet until the 9th inning when Jeff McNeil hit a triple to get the Mets on the board and Jared Young tied the game with a pinch-hit sac fly.The first half finishes up for the Mets at 55-42 and they will have some time off before being back in action next Friday when they host the Cincinnati Reds.
