Locked On Mets

POSTCAST: Montas Brilliant, Mets Still Find A Way to LOSE

Sinopsis

The New York Mets found a way to lose tonight, falling to the Atlanta Braves for the fifth straight time, 7-4. Frankie Montas made his Mets debut tonight and was absolutely brilliant. After having an ERA north of 12 in his rehab starts, many were concerned how things would go at the big league level. It was five scoreless innings for Montas, who had his sinker working and dialed it up to 98mph multiple times. Offensively, the Mets jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a Jeff McNeil SAC fly and a Brett Baty two-run single. But, it was the sixth inning were things went sideways for New York. The Braves sent 11 men to the plate. They drew four walks and one HBP and scored FIVE runs to take the lead off of the Mets bullpen. The Mets did put together a small rally in the 9th to force the Braves to turn to Raisel Iglesias and got the tying run to the plate, but the rally came up short. It'll be Clay Holmes tomorrow to try and stop the losing streak at three and to avoid giving the Braves ANOTHER series win. Support Us By
