Sinopsis
The New York Mets traveled to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies in search of some answers in the midst of a six-game losing streak. Instead, it was a 10-2 loss and more questions for the team to solve. Tonight, it was the bullpen that had the rough night. Reed Garrett and Justin Garza combined to allow 8 runs over the 7th and 8th innings, dashing any chances the Mets had in this one. Blade Tidwell made the start for the Mets and despite what the box score might say, it was a much better outing for Tidwell than his debut. Better command of his fastball allowed him to show off what his stuff could do. Offensively, the Mets hit two solo home runs that tied the game in the 6th, but that was it for them as they went hit-less the remainder of the game. New York attempts to turn the page tomorrow and stop this skid, with Griffin Canning taking the bump.
