Sinopsis
Yesterday, the New York Mets got back in the win column and their offense broke out. Tonight, it was back to an disappointing reality in a 7-1 loss to the Phillies. The Mets offense goes on the back of four players. When Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo, Juan Soto and Pete Alonso are going, the Mets offense and team go. The teams 2, 3 and 4 hitters tonight (Marte, Soto, Alonso) did not register a hit. The team is still searching for consistent, bottom of the order production. Pitching wise, it was a bad time for David Peterson to have his worse start in two seasons. It's the first time that Peterson has allowed five runs in a start since May of 2023.It doesn't get any easier from here, as it's back to taking on the Atlanta Braves for a three game series starting on Monday.
