The New York Mets executed a very simple formula. They played great defense and Juan Soto hit two home runs. That fueled their 7-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks, their first series since sweeping the Phillies a few weeks back. This one started out as a pitchers duel, albeit a weird one. Kodai Senga battled through trouble in his first three innings of work, but ended the day with six scoreless innings. Soto got the Mets on the board 1st with a HR in the 6th.
