Athletes As Educators

On the Athletes as Educators Podcast, Angie interviews current and former athletes who are doing extraordinary things outside of sports. On episode 24 Angie speaks with Cecelia Townes, the Sporty Esquire, is proud graduate of Howard University and the University of California, Los Angeles-School of Law.  As an undergraduate at Howard, Cecelia was a member and former team captain of the Women’s Tennis team.  Her experiences as a student-athlete helped propel her success into and through law school.  Following graduation and bar passage Cecelia worked for the District of Columbia government where she focused on administrative law.  Since completing her tenure the District of Columbia, Cecelia has worked with the federal government where her focus is administrative, personnel, environmental and torts law.  In addition to her work with federal and local governments, Cecelia remains dedicated to sports.  Specifically, she is focused on improving on the image of female athletes and women in sports and the experienc
